Red Sox | Allen Craig to get a look?

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 06:07:19 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Allen Craig could be an option to replace struggling 1B Mike Napoli at first base for the Red Sox. Craig has an on-base percentage over .400 in the minor leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Craig is hitting .275 at Class AAA, and he has three home runs in 185 plate appearances. Craig opened the season with a .135 batting average through 59 plate appearances in the major leagues, and he won't be a fantasy option until he proves otherwise.

Red Sox | Allen Craig outrighted to minors

Mon, 18 May 2015 13:25:25 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Allen Craig cleared waivers and was outrighted to Class AAA Pawtucket (R.I.) Monday, May 18. He has roughly $25.2 million remaining on his contract, and any claiming team would have been responsible for that amount of money. Craig has hit only .130 with a .427 OPS in 53 games with Boston since he was acquired in a trade last summer.

Fantasy Tip: Craig can be dropped in all formats after his demotion. Keep an eye on him, though, as he could be traded at some point before the deadline this summer. Craig's demotion could signal that Boston is ready to recall Rusney Castillo from the minors. Castillo, who will likely play often when he's back in the bigs, should be stashed everywhere.

Red Sox | Jackie Bradley Jr. in lineup

Sun, 10 May 2015 07:39:37 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley Jr. will start in right field and bat eighth in the order Sunday, May 10, against the Toronto Blue Jays. OF Allen Craig will come out of the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Bradley Jr. will make his season debut at the major league level. Bradley Jr. was hitting .343 through 107 plate appearances at Class AAA but he hit just .198 in 423 major league plate appearances in 2014. Bradley Jr. should be avoided until he shows some positive results.

Red Sox | Allen Craig being sent down

Sat, 09 May 2015 16:54:12 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Allen Craig will be optioned to the minors and cannot refuse the assignment.

Fantasy Tip: A couple of years ago, Craig looked to be blossoming into a premier run producer. The consistent at-bats in the minors will give him as good of a chance as any to return to form. Keep an eye on his progress during his comeback trail.

Red Sox | Allen Craig starts third straight game

Fri, 08 May 2015 13:51:49 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Allen Craig is starting in left field and batting sixth against the Toronto Blue Jays Friday, May 8.

Fantasy Tip: Craig ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has fleeting value while Hanley Ramirez nurses his shoulder injury. Craig hasn't exactly run with the opportunity, though. He is currently sporting a 3-for-11 run with a home run and a .974 OPS. At his cap hit and hitting in a prime RBI spot of the lineup, Craig is a nice low-priced target for FantasyScore players Friday.

Boston Red Sox OF Allen Craig is starting in right field and batting seventh against the New York Yankees Friday, May 1.

Fantasy Tip: Craig ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has a career .824 OPS against left-handed pitchers, so despite his early-season struggles, he is in play for FantasyScore contests Friday. Opposing pitcher C.C. Sabathia ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is sporting a 5.96 ERA, too.

Red Sox | Hanley Ramirez resting

Thu, 23 Apr 2015 12:50:17 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Hanley Ramirez is not in the starting lineup Thursday, April 23. OF Allen Craig is starting in left field and hitting seventh in the batting order against Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi.

Fantasy Tip: Craig ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is hitting just .118 (2-for-17) to start the season. In what was a rough 2014 season for him, he batted only .208 (71-for-341) with five of his eight home runs against right-handers. Consider Craig a low-end outfield option at FantasyScore today.

Red Sox | Allen Craig in the lineup

Wed, 15 Apr 2015 09:39:08 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Allen Craig is starting at first base Wednesday, April 15, against the Washington Nationals.

Fantasy Tip: Craig ($2,100, 4.2% of your cap) has mashed against lefties in his career, but we need to see evidence he's over the foot issues before using him on FantasyScore.

Red Sox | Hanley Ramirez, Shane Victorino out

Sat, 11 Apr 2015 09:42:11 -0700

Boston Red Sox OFs Hanley Ramirez and Shane Victorino are not in the starting lineup Saturday, April 11. OF Daniel Nava is starting in left field, while OF Allen Craig is starting in right field.

Fantasy Tip: Nava ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) and Craig ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) have not seen many at bats this season but could be cheaper options for owners on FantasyScore to consider Saturday.
