Bears | Plank would be interested in coaching for team

The Chicago Tribune reports former New York Jets defensive backs coach Doug Plank said during an appearance on "The Danny Mac Show" on WSCR-AM 670 Monday, Jan. 25, that he would like to coach for the Chicago Bears. Plank said, "They have my phone number. They know where I'm at. And if they have any interest, I'd be interested."

Jets | Five coaches will not return next season

The Associated Press reports New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said the contracts of assistant quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, assistant defensive backs coach Doug Plank, special teams assistant Kevin O'Dea, pass rush specialist Chuck Smith and defensive quality control coach Brian Smith will not be renewed.

Falcons | Plank to serve as coaching assistant

D. Orlando Ledbetter, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports the Atlanta Falcons named Georgia Force head coach Doug Plank to their staff Tuesday, July 22. Plank will serve as a coaching assistant and will be assigned to special projects, according to vice president of football communications Reggie Roberts. Plank will be involved on offense and defense and with special teams. He will remain as coach of the Force.
