He stepped awkwardly and heard a "pop" in his knee and crumpled to the ground, according to two sources.

The Associated Press reports Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg (knee) will be scratched from his start in the Arizona Fall League championship game Saturday, Nov. 21, because of a twisted left knee. He was hurt during a workout Thursday, Nov. 19, and an MRI exam confirmed inflammation. Strasburg is scheduled to be examined by a team doctor Friday, Nov. 20. The team is saying his injury "is not considered serious."

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg allowed two singles and a walk over 3 1/3 scoreless innings Friday, Oct. 16, in his Arizona Fall League debut with the Phoenix Desert Dogs, according to The Associated Press. He threw 32 of 50 pitches for strikes, and struck out two batters, before being removed from the game because of a predetermined pitch count set by the Nationals. Besides the two hits, the Scottsdale Scorpions were unable to hit a ball out of the infield against Strasburg, who topped out at 99 mph. He is expected to make at least five starts in the Arizona Fall League.
