Nationals | Stephen Strasburg goes to 8-0

Tue, 24 May 2016 20:06:40 -0700

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg improved to 8-0 after winning his start Tuesday, May 24, over the New York Mets. He worked 6 2/3 innings, surrendering two runs on four hits and two walks, while tying a season high with 11 strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: With another quality performance under his belt, Strasburg moves another step closer to being this year's starting pitcher for the National League in the All-Star Game. He's simply been lights out, as he now owns a 86-to-18 K/BB ratio in 67 2/3 innings to go with his nifty 2.79 ERA. Strasburg has always had as high a ceiling as anybody and now he's reaching it on a consistent basis.

Mets | David Wright not in Tuesday lineup

Tue, 24 May 2016 12:53:47 -0700

New York Mets 3B David Wright is not in the lineup Tuesday, May 24, against the Washington Nationals. 3B Ty Kelly is batting eighth against Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg. The team has also moved SS Asdrubal Cabrera to the No. 2 spot in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Wright has dealt with back issues in recent games, but this appears to be a normal night out of the starting lineup. Kelly was hitting .391 in the minors at the time of his promotion and may be worth a flyer in DFS leagues Tuesday night. Wait and see how Kelly is used before picking him up in other leagues. As for Cabrera, he has five hits in his last four games and is worth the fantasy risk because of his movement up the lineup.

Nationals | Stephen Strasburg signs extension

Mon, 09 May 2016 17:13:33 -0700

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg signed a seven-year, $175 million extension Monday, May 9.

Fantasy Tip: An aggressive move by the Nats, locking up Strasburg prior to his potential free agency. Still just 27 years old, Strasburg has battled some injuries throughout his career but when he's been able to stay healthy, he's been mostly dominant, as everyone is seeing again this season. The right-hander looks like he's on pace to make his second All-Star team, carrying a 5-0 record, 2.36 ERA and 47-to-9 K/BB ratio into Monday's action.

Nationals | Stephen Strasburg solid, now 5-0

Wed, 04 May 2016 14:55:12 -0700

Fantasy Tip: As long as he stays healthy, there's no question Strasburg is on pace to claim his first All-Star berth. The 27-year-old not only is perfect with his win-loss record, but he's also put together a shiny 2.36 ERA to go with a dazzling 47-to-9 K/BB ratio in his 42 total innings. Owners should continue to get that type of dominance as long as he can avoid the disabled list.
