The Minnesota Twins have placed SP Cole De Vries (forearm) on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right forearm. The move is retroactive to March 30. The team also optioned RP Tyler Robertson to Triple-A Rochester.

The Minnesota Twins will place SP Cole De Vries (forearm) on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right forearm. The move will be retroactive to last Saturday, March 30. SP Pedro Hernandez will be recalled from Triple-A Rochester to take De Vries' scheduled start Sunday, April 7. De Vries still had tightness in his arm during a bullpen session Friday, April 5.

Minnesota Twins SP Pedro Hernandez will start Sunday, April 7, in place of SP Cole De Vries (forearm).

Fantasy Tip: Hernandez should only be a last-ditch option in the deepest of AL leagues and probably should be left to the waiver wire for now. There isn't any indication yet that De Vries will need to go on the DL.

Minnesota Twins SP Cole De Vries (forearm) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday, April 3. Manager Ron Gardenhire said it "just wenk OK." The left-hander remains hopeful that he'll make his start on Sunday, April 7.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds more and more like wishful thinking for De Vries. The Twins have options for a spot start -- none of them fantasy worthy -- should they go in that direction, or they could even decide to start Vance Worley on regular rest. Assuming that Scott Diamond (elbow) remains on track to join the rotation on April 12, the Twins may opt to be cautious with De Vries.
