Fri, 31 May 2013 14:50:15 -0700 The Oakland Athletics activated OF Josh Reddick (wrist) from the 15-day disabled list Friday, May 31, and optioned C Luke Montz to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Fantasy Tip: Reddick is available in a good chunk of mixed leagues thanks to his under .200 batting average. His poor start was likely the result of his wrist injury that lingered since April. If he's fully healthy now, he could turn things around quickly.
Wed, 15 May 2013 12:02:41 -0700 Oakland Athletics OF Chris B. Young (quadriceps) will play for Triple-A Sacramento Thursday, May 16, and is likely to come off the disabled list Friday, May 17. The team will decide to send C Luke Montz down or designate 1B Daric Barton for assignment to make room for Young on the roster. Fantasy Tip: Michael Taylor was sent down to the minors today, so Young figures to platoon in the outfield with Seth Smith, as he was doing before. Young has power, but he won't do you any favors in the batting average category. This makes him an asset in cavernous mixed formats with deep outfield setups.
Wed, 01 May 2013 10:17:22 -0700 Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (hamstring) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left hamstring. He left the club's Monday, April 29, contest in the 13th inning because of the injury and sat out on Tuesday, April 30, the date to which his DL stint is backdated. The A's have called up C Luke Montz from Triple-A Sacramento to take Crisp's place on the 25-man roster. Fantasy Tip: This is par for the course for Crisp. The injury doesn't seem to be serious, but the Athletics have played shorthanded here and there for the past couple of weeks. Chris Young's and Seth Smith's PT become a little more secure in the short term, so each may carry value in deep mixed leagues. Crisp will hopefully not need much more than the minimum on the DL.
