The Houston Astros have officially placed RP Brandon Lyon (shoulder, biceps) on the 15-day disabled list. P Jose Valdez was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Wilton Lopez and Jeff Fulchino might steal some chances, but Mark Melancon should be added everywhere. He has excelled in a setup role this year and has the skills to take the job permanently from the shaky Lyon. Lyon owners should stash him to see how this plays out down the road.

Updating a previous report, Houston Astros RP Brandon Lyon (shoulder, biceps) has been diagnosed with a partial tear of his rotator cuff and biceps tendonitis. He will not require surgery but will head to the disabled list. RP Jose Valdez will be recalled in a corresponding move.
