The Cleveland Indians designated P Hector Rondon (elbow) for assignment Tuesday, Dec. 6. Rondon is out for five to seven months with a right elbow ailment. He underwent surgery on the elbow Nov. 15 to fix a fracture.

Cleveland Indians manager Manny Acta said the team is still weighing options regarding what to do with SP Carlos Carrasco (elbow). A report in a Veneuelan newspaper last week quoted minor league P Hector Rondon, who said his countryman might require Tommy John surgery. "As far as I know, we're still gathering information and different opinions on Carrasco," Acta said. "We haven't made the decision just yet."
