The Cleveland Indians designated P Hector Rondon (elbow) for assignment Tuesday, Dec. 6. Rondon is out for five to seven months with a right elbow ailment. He underwent surgery on the elbow Nov. 15 to fix a fracture.

Cleveland Indians manager Manny Acta said the team is still weighing options regarding what to do with SP Carlos Carrasco (elbow). A report in a Veneuelan newspaper last week quoted minor league P Hector Rondon, who said his countryman might require Tommy John surgery. "As far as I know, we're still gathering information and different opinions on Carrasco," Acta said. "We haven't made the decision just yet."

The Cleveland Indians optioned IF Jared Goedert, P Corey Kluber and P Hector Rondon to Triple-A Columbus Friday, March 11, according to MLB.com's Jordan Bastian. Ps Kelvin De La Cruz and Nick Hagadone were optioned to Double-A Akron and C Chun-Hsiu Chen was reassigned to minor league camp.

Cleveland Indians P Hector Rondon (forearm) is headed to the disabled list in the minor leagues with right forearm tightness, according to MLB.com's Anthony Castrovince. However, the team said his injury is not considered serious, and Rondon should only miss one or two starts.

The Cleveland Indians announced the team optioned RP Jeanmar Gomez, RP Hector Rondon, C Carlos Santana and OF Jordan Brown to Triple-A Columbus. IF Carlos Rivero and OF Nick Weglarz was optioned to Double-A Akron. IF Beau Mills was reassigned to minor league camp.
