Fri, 24 Feb 2012 13:50:53 -0800 Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker said he's not worried about the health of 3B Scott Rolen this year. Baker is confident Rolen will be out on the field and will play as many games as his body will allow. However, Baker plans to keep Rolen fresh this spring and won't overwork him. INFs Juan Francisco, Wilson Valdez, Chris Valaika, Todd Frazier, Willie Harris and Paul Janish are all in the mix for the last bench spots, and any one of them could wind up spelling Rolen at third. INF Miguel Cairo is another option.

"I'm all healed up and ready to go," Valaika said. "I've felt 100 percent the last three weeks or so. Once I started full baseball activities, I started getting confident in it. The first part of rehab is slow and pretty monotonous not being able to get outside and feel human," Valaika said. "My offseason is starting and I'm getting myself ready for the season instead of just doing rehab." Valaika has been working out in Arizona with SS Zack Cozart (elbow, ankle), who was cleared for baseball activities earlier this week.
