Angels | Kevin Jepsen impressing

Wed, 22 Feb 2012 13:30:21 -0800

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Kevin Jepsen threw an impressive bullpen session Wednesday, Feb. 22. "From spring training last year, (Jepsen) didn't look like he was throwing the ball as well as he could, and it carried over into the season," manager Mike Scioscia said. "And he went down to the minor leagues and he never really found his velocity, his command, the crispness on his pitches. He looks like a different guy this spring. He looks strong. He looks healthy. He had that knee that bothered him toward the end of the year that he had cleaned out, and he looks very good right now."

Angels | Several vying for setup role

Tue, 21 Feb 2012 17:57:37 -0800

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim manager Mike Scioscia wouldn't say exactly what the order in the bullpen will be before closer RP Jordan Walden, as he simply doesn't know yet. "I think this year we're going to have much better matchups on a daily basis. They all fit in; they all fit in. They're all going to be important to us. It's just impossible to say what the pecking order is, because the pecking order is going to change on a daily basis anyway." RPs Trevor Bell, Bobby Cassevah, LaTroy Hawkins, Kevin Jepsen and Rich Thompson will all be valuable members of the bullpen.
