The Pittsburgh Pirates placed SP James McDonald (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list with pain in his right shoulder Tuesday, May 7. The DL stint is retroactive to May 1. 3B Josh Harrison has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to fill the empty spot on the roster. SP Jeanmar Gomez will make the start against the Seattle Mariners Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: McDonald has been terribly inconsistent this year and can be safely dropped in most mixed universes. Gomez entered the rotation when Pittsburgh cut bait on Jonathan Sanchez. Consider Gomez in NL-only formats.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have called up SP Phillip Irwin from Triple-A Indianapolis to start against the Cincinnati Reds Sunday, April 14. In a corresponding move, INF Josh Harrison has been optioned to Indianapolis.

Pittsburgh Pirates 2B Neil Walker (back) will meet with a specialist Friday, Sept. 28, after sitting out the last three games with a lower back problem. It's possible Walker will sit out the rest of the season. INF Josh Harrison made his third straight start at second base in Wilson's absence Wednesday, Sept. 26.

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Pirates 2B Neil Walker (finger) left the game early with a dislocated finger on his right hand Wednesday, Aug. 15, and he'll be evaluated further. INF Josh Harrison moved to second base to replace Walker.

Pittsburgh Pirates 3B Josh Harrison went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, his first of the season, and three RBIs Wednesday, May 16, against the Washington Nationals. It was just the second homer of Harrison's career.
