Wang will be used as a long reliever out of the bullpen. Mattheus is dealing with plantar fasciitis.

He threw 25 pitches, working in split-fingered fastballs and sliders. He was scheduled for another session Wednesday, Sept. 14, and then he will throw a simulated game. Barring any setbacks, he is expected to come off the 15-day disabled list Sept. 20.
