McClure implemented a similar strategy with RPs Kyle Farnsworth and Joakim Soria in 2007 with the Kansas City Royals. "I think it made (Farnsworth) a better pitcher," McClure said. "He had more pitches. He was more comfortable with runners on. We worked on his pickoff move. We worked on holding runners. I think all of those things, combined, made him overall a better pitcher."

"To be honest with you, the way things are going, he should be starting. It's as simple as that," Ortiz said. "I think at one point, he might be a starter.
