Wed, 05 Jun 2013 11:26:46 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SP Stephen Fife will make another start against the Atlanta Braves Saturday, June 8, in place of SP Chris Capuano (shoulder), who landed on the disabled list Tuesday, June 4. Fantasy Tip: Fife, who had a nice outing against the San Diego Padres Monday, will likely stay in the rotation to replace Capuano for the time being. Don't expect many more outings like the one he had the other day, though. He's mainly an option for NL-only leaguers.

Fantasy Tip: Get Ramirez back into your lineups. Luis Cruz will be pushed back to third base, but he could be part of a platoon with Jerry Hairston Jr. or Nick Punto. Capuano will head to the DL for the second time this year. Stephen Fife could remain in the rotation for the time being after a nice outing against the San Diego Padres last night.

Capuano underwent an MRI exam Monday, and the team expects him to make his next start Saturday, June 8.

Fife is starting against the San Diego Padres Monday. Fantasy Tip: Crawford has dealt with nagging injuries all season, but he couldn't get past his latest hamstring ailment. Top outfield prospect Yasiel Puig is now in the fold for L.A., and Skip Schumaker will likely continue to see playing time in the outfield with Matt Kemp (hamstring) also on the DL. Schumaker is worth a look in cavernous mixed leagues and NL-only universes.

"It's not debilitating and it's hard to say whether it would tighten out there. But we want to make sure," Capuano said Sunday, June 2. "I'd like to be able to say I'm 100 percent there won't be a problem." The team is expected to recall P Stephen Fife to take the start if Capuano is indeed scratched.

RP Stephen Fife (shoulder) was activated from the DL and optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque, and C Tim Federowicz was recalled from Albuquerque. Fantasy Tip: Kemp has been a major disappointment for his fantasy owners. He missed two months last year with a hamstring ailment, and his second-half power and speed suffered. This hamstring injury isn't believed to be as serious, but it could linger if he's not careful. Scott Van Slyke will reap the benefits of more frequent playing time with Kemp out, making him more intriguing in deep mixed affairs. Skip Schumaker and Jerry Hairston Jr. might be mixed in at center field, too. Federowicz could be an addition to NL-only rosters that start two catchers. Don't rule out the Dodgers getting desperate and summoning Joc Pederson or Yasiel Puig, either. Pederson wasn't in the lineup at Double-A Chattanooga tonight, meaning a call-up could be imminent.

Also, SP Zach Lee, who is 2-0 with a 1.16 ERA with Double-A Chattanooga, is a long-term possibility. Fantasy Tip: Fife and Magill are strictly players that would be reserved to NL-only pools. Lee, on the other hand, is the team's top pitching prospect and would attract a lot of attention on the wire if he were to be called up. That probably won't happen anytime soon, but keep your eye on him.

Billingsley will have the surgery Wednesday, April 24. Fantasy Tip: The Dodgers have had some tough luck with injuries to their starting pitchers in the last several weeks. Ted Lilly is filling in for Chris Capuano (calf) and Stephen Fife is the temporary replacement for Billingsley. The Dodgers may look to trade for some starting pitching now that they are bare in that department once again.

In a corresponding move, the team recalled SP Stephen Fife from Triple-A Albuquerque. Fife is scheduled to start Sunday, April 21.
