Tue, 08 May 2012 14:08:50 -0700 Washington Nationals OFs Roger Bernadina and Xavier Nady will platoon in left field with OF Jayson Werth (wrist) out, and INF Steve Lombardozzi won't play much of a factor. 1B Chad Tracy is unlikely to come into the picture in the outfield, either.
Mon, 07 May 2012 09:51:56 -0700 Updating a previous report, Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth (wrist) will miss at least six weeks after breaking his left wrist Sunday, May 6. It's the same wrist he broke while playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2005. The team will platoon OFs Xavier Nady and Roger Bernadina in left field in the meantime, with OF Bryce Harper in right field. OFs Steve Lombardozzi and Chad Tracy could also see time in left.

Manager Davey Johnson said Zimmerman will be rested on the road.
Fri, 13 Apr 2012 15:45:11 -0700 Washington Nationals OF Rick Ankiel (quadriceps) will be activated from the disabled list Saturday, April 14, where he will become the starting center fielder over OF Roger Bernadina. "He's in great shape," manager Davey Johnson said. "He had a great rehab program. Did awfully well. He's still fine. He had a great workout with the boys. He looks good to go." OFs Steve Lombardozzi and Brett Carroll are candidates to be sent down. Johnson plans to play Ankiel on an everyday basis. It's unlikely that OF Mark DeRosa will play much at first base with Bernadina moving to left field.

Espinosa said he is "fine" and won't undergo concussion tests. INF Steve Lombardozzi will replace Espinosa.
Mon, 02 Apr 2012 11:19:20 -0700 The Washington Nationals will place OF Rick Ankiel (quadriceps) on the 15-day disabled list to start the year with tightness in his left quadriceps. Ankiel and OF Mike Morse (lat) are expected to return by April 12. OFs Brett Carroll and Xavier Nady and INFs Steve Lombardozzi and Chad Tracy will all make the opening day roster. OF Roger Bernadina is expected to start in center field on opening day.
