Diamondbacks | Daniel Hudson throws bullpen

Tue, 26 Mar 2013 15:46:54 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Daniel Hudson (elbow) threw his first bullpen session Tuesday, March 26, since having Tommy John surgery about half a year ago. The team is hoping he can return around the All-Star break.

Fantasy Tip: Pitchers returning from Tommy John surgery usually struggle initially and go through setbacks, so expecting him to produce for your fantasy squad in the second half is being pretty optimistic. He's a better bet to perform consistently next year.

Diamondbacks | Daniel Hudson rehabbing

Fri, 01 Mar 2013 14:38:00 -0800

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Daniel Hudson (elbow) is currently rehabbing his way back from Tommy John surgery last year. He said he'll make sure not to overdo things during his between-starts throwing sessions when he eventually makes his way back. Hudson is also strengthening other parts of his body because his slinging motion when he throws puts stress on his arm moreso than other pitchers. He's working on getting the ball out of his glove quicker and not taking his throwing hand back as much during his motion.

Diamondbacks | Daniel Hudson rehabbing

Mon, 07 Jan 2013 12:12:47 -0800

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Daniel Hudson (elbow) started throwing a tennis ball in the first week of November as he rehabs from Tommy John surgery. "We started slow, we started throwing a tennis ball for the first week just to get that motion back, and that was actually more difficult than throwing a baseball because it was so light. I had no idea where that tennis ball was going. The next week we were just tossing a baseball back and forth - I don't think it was even 30 feet. And then we just progressed it from there like 15 or 20 feet every week." He was playing catch at just over 100 feet last month. Hudson hasn't had any setbacks, and he hopes he can return to the rotation in July.
