"He hasn't thrown yet, right now it's treatment and strengthening his shoulder to try to get the stiffness out," manager Kirk Gibson said. "We always take our time and make sure they're 100 percent. You don't want to rush him back, even as much as you want to sometimes. I want to make sure they can participate in their regular roles."

The move is retroactive to April 19. "I tried to play catch yesterday and it didn't feel good so we shut it down," Hudson said. "There's something in there that's inflamed. It's frustrating, but I'd rather be safe than sorry in April and be ready to go in September." Hudson had an MRI Friday, April 20, that did not reveal any structural damage.
