Arizona Diamondbacks SP Daniel Hudson (elbow) suffered another tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow Tuesday, June 4, and the team is exploring all of their medical options.
Fantasy Tip: Hudson will almost certainly miss the rest of the season and most of next year, as well. It's a tough break for one of their better young pitchers. It means Tyler Skaggs has a better shot to stick around in the rotation for the rest of the season, though, giving deep mixed league managers more incentive to pick him up.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Daniel Hudson (elbow) left his start at Double-A Mobile Tuesday, June 4, with elbow stiffness. He'll be examined in Phoenix.
Fantasy Tip: At best, he'll probably have to start his rehab assignment over after a couple weeks of rest.

Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson seems to be growing restless when it comes to SP Wade Miley, and he likely doesn't have much rope left in the starting rotation. Miley could be a candidate to be bumped from the rotation if he continues to struggle.
Fantasy Tip: Now that Tyler Skaggs is in the rotation to replace Brandon McCarthy, there may not be any imminent options to replace Miley, however. Archie Bradley has pitched well in the minors, but he probably isn't ready yet. Daniel Hudson (elbow) is currently rehabbing from Tommy John surgery and won't be rushed.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Daniel Hudson (elbow) will make a rehab start at Double-A Mobile, June 4 and June 10 before he's re-evaluated.
Thu, 30 May 2013 13:42:23 -0700
Arizona Diamondbacks SP Daniel Hudson (elbow), who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, could make another rehab start for Double-A Mobile Tuesday, June 4, and he could return to the team next month. General manager Kevin Towers would like to see Hudson throw 100 pitches in a game "two or three times" before they rely on him. The team is happy with Hudson's velocity and mechanics, though.
Fantasy Tip: Expect Arizona to be extremely cautious with Hudson as he works his way back from elbow reconstruction. If he doesn't suffer any setbacks, though, he could be a realistic option around the All-Star break or before. Consider stashing him in a DL spot in mixed leagues soon.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Daniel Hudson (elbow) allowed seven hits and four earned runs while walking one and striking out three in six innings (74 pitches) at extended spring training Wednesday, May 29, and he was up to 95 mph with his fastball.
Fantasy Tip: This is very positive progress for Hudson, who is working his way back from Tommy John surgery. He's just in the process of building up arm strength right now. Hudson will need to embark on a full minor league rehab assignment and avoid setbacks in order to return to the D-backs rotation. That's unlikely to happen until deep into the second half of the season, so he probably won't have much fantasy value this year.
