Rockies | Charlie Blackmon back in lineup

Sat, 02 May 2015 15:56:03 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon (illness) is back in the lineup Saturday, May 2, against the San Diego Padres. Blackmon also returns to the leadoff spot in the Rockies' order.

Fantasy Tip: Blackmon ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) had hits in nine of eleven games before being forced out of the lineup due to a stomach virus. A left-handed hitter, Blackmon will have the upper hand against Padres RHP Brandon Morrow, as he is hitting .314 off righties so far this season. FantasyScore owners can continue to use Blackmon in most matchups against righties.

Fri, 10 Apr 2015 10:17:11 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Stubbs ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is not a bad buy-low outfield option at all at FantasyScore. Stubbs last year hit an impressive .328 with seven home runs against left-handed pitchers in 131 at-bats. He also has five hits in 12 career at-bats against Wood in his career. Consider him a sneaky good play today.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon feeling good

Wed, 11 Mar 2015 21:57:22 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon (abdomen) said Wednesday, March 11, that his abdominal strain only hurt when he swung a bat. He said most of the pain is now gone.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon set to return

Mon, 09 Mar 2015 15:45:04 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon (abdomen) said he expected to make his Cactus League debut midweek. Blackmon also noted he wanted to work on having all facets of his game sharp during spring training, including working on his base running.

Fantasy Tip: A tour through Blackmon's split stats highlight his reliance on Coors Field (.331/.391/.524 home slash line vs. .241/.269/.348 road slash line) and a drastic second-half slide (.264/.314/.348 second-half slash line vs. .305/.349/.479 first-half slash line). Still, Blackmon is a rare five-category producer, but he is just likely to see his year-end numbers regress in 2015.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon has abdominal pain

Wed, 04 Mar 2015 10:54:05 -0800

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon (abdomen) is not in the spring lineup Wednesday, March 4, due to slight abdominal pain. However, he's scheduled to take batting practice.

Fantasy Tip: Blackmon had a solid year with the Rockies in 2014, but can he repeat his efforts in 2015? Be careful not to overvalue him in fantasy baseball drafts. Blackmon had drastic road splits away from the hitter's haven of Coors Field, and his second half numbers may be more indicative of what he has to offer this season.
