Colorado Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood (triceps) is scheduled to make his next start Saturday, June 15, against the Philadelphia Phillies, getting an extra day to rest his right triceps and elbow injury. Manager Walt Weiss announced the move Wednesday, June 12, as originally Chatwood was to start Friday, June 14.

Colorado Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood (triceps) threw all his pitches in a bullpen session Tuesday, June 11, and reported that he's fine. He said that his triceps tissue injury was "annoying."

Fantasy Tip: Perhaps Chatwood is on track to take his next turn in the rotation, which would come this weekend, but it's unclear what "annoying" means to the Rockies. Chatwood has pitched well since his call-up and is deserving of deep mixed-league attention if he proves to be healthy.

Colorado Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood (triceps) is expected to miss his next start Saturday, June 8, after an MRI exam showed a slight triceps hyperextension. Trainer Keith Dugger said it was the "best-case scenario."

Fantasy Tip: Chatwood has been one of Colorado's more consistent starting pitchers this year, and it looks like he dodged a bullet. Expect him to miss only one start. It's unknown who the replacement for the Saturday start could be. Drew Pomeranz, Jeff Francis and Roy Oswalt are all options, but because it's a spot start, Pomeranz might make the most sense.

Colorado Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood's (triceps) sore right triceps does not appear to be a serious injury. However, he's flying back to Denver for an MRI exam, and he won't have a bullpen session Wednesday, June 5. He's on schedule to start against the San Diego Padres Saturday, June 8, but it's too early to tell if he'll be able to make that start. "It's just sore. Anytime I tried to throw fastballs to my glove side, it was sore," said Chatwood, whose triceps was packed with ice after the game. "They said it was probably just inflammation, but nothing serious, hopefully."

Fantasy Tip: Jeff Francis (ankle) could be activated from the disabled list to make a start if Chatwood needs more rest. Drew Pomeranz is another option, but the Rockies may think he needs more work in the minors. Stay tuned.

The Colorado Rockies have recalled SP Tyler Chatwood from Triple-A Colorado Springs. In a corresponding move, the team optioned RP Rob Scahill to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Colorado Rockies SP Juan Nicasio will start against the San Francisco Giants Sunday, May 19. He had been originally scheduled to start Saturday, May 18, but SP Tyler Chatwood will pitch instead.

Colorado Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood will be recalled from the minors to start against the San Francisco Giants Saturday, May 18.

Fantasy Tip: Chatwood is still young and has had his share of struggles in his major league career, especially against lefties. He'll need to show he can become a ground-ball pitcher to succeed at Coors Field. There's no reason to add him in mixed formats unless he strings together a few impressive performances.
