|Rockies | Tyler Chatwood sets franchise record|
Sat, 21 May 2016 18:45:20 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Chatwood has been a surprise fantasy contributor this year, and don't hesitate to start him in daily formats when he is pitching on the road.

|Rockies | Tyler Chatwood using changeup more|
Thu, 05 May 2016 11:18:43 -0700
Colorado Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood lowered his ERA on the year to 2.15 with eight shutout innings against the San Diego Padres Wednesday, May 4, and opponents are hitting .239 off of him. He's throwing his changeup more often to ease the stress on his elbow, which has twice been reconstructed with Tommy John surgery.
Fantasy Tip: Chatwood essentially missed two years because of his second elbow reconstruction, so it's hard to say how durable he'll be for the Rockies throughout the year. The early returns are very promising, though, and he should be owned in deep mixed and NL-only leagues at this point. Just be careful with half of his starts coming at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

|Rockies | Tyler Chatwood impresses again|
Wed, 04 May 2016 15:57:41 -0700
Colorado Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood was phenomenal in his start Wednesday, May 4, against the San Diego Padres. He tossed eight shutout innings of three-hit ball, striking out seven and walking only one, en route to picking up the victory.
Fantasy Tip: Although it can be tough trusting a starting pitcher from the Rockies regularly, it might be time to start taking Chatwood seriously. The 26-year-old is now 4-2 with a dazzling 2.15 ERA, and he's allowed one run or less in four of his six starts. For those that think this might be a fluke, also consider that before going down with Tommy John surgery, Chatwood actually posted respectable numbers in his last full season with the club back in 2013.

|MLB | Pirates-Rockies postponed|
Thu, 28 Apr 2016 10:42:18 -0700
The game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies scheduled for Thursday, April 28, was postponed due to inclement weather. No makeup date was announced. Pirates SP Juan Nicasio was scheduled to face Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood.
Fantasy Tip: On a day with few games, the players to choose from just got smaller. Make sure to avoid any of the players from this game in daily fantasy, and it makes spending up for high-priced players like Jake Arrieta more palatable.

|Rockies | Tyler Chatwood set to start Saturday|
Fri, 22 Apr 2016 22:52:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Chatwood has pitched pretty well in Denver, something not many pitchers can say over their careers. He is worth using in NL-only fantasy leagues and some deeper mixed formats. He can also be a value play in DFS when the price is right.

|Rockies | Tyler Chatwood dominates Cubs|
Sun, 17 Apr 2016 15:21:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Chatwood is emerging as a potential starting option any time he is not working in Colorado. The former top prospect was roughed up for five runs in six innings in a loss during his only outing at Coors Field earlier this week, but he is 2-0 with 1.48 ERA while shutting down the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cubs. Chatwood might be a dicey start at home against the Los Angeles Dodgers next weekend but is slated to pitch on the road over his next two turns.

|Rockies | Tyler Chatwood solid in return|
Wed, 06 Apr 2016 15:59:08 -0700
Colorado Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood looked good in his return to the mound Wednesday, April 6, opposite the Arizona Diamondbacks. The right-hander registered 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits, while striking out three and walking none. It was his first major league appearance since April 2014.
Fantasy Tip: It is potential diamonds in the rough like Chatwood that can catapult fantasy teams onto big things. Chatwood has become a forgotten man after missing just about all of the past two years due to Tommy John, but he did exhibit some promise before that. In fact, in his first year with the Rockies in 2013, he finished 8-5 in 20 starts with a desirable 3.15 ERA. He'll be a stash option if he can contribute another quality outing his next time out.

|Rockies | COL to employ four-man rotation|
Thu, 31 Mar 2016 18:57:40 -0700
The Colorado Rockies will use a four-man rotation to start the season, according to manager Walt Weiss. SPs Jorge De La Rosa, Chad Bettis, Tyler Chatwood and Jordan Lyles will occupy the rotation spots. The club isn't expected to need a fifth starter until sometime between April 14, in a game versus the San Francisco Giants, and April 16, in a game versus the Chicago Cubs. At that point, SP Jon Gray (abdomen) could be ready to return from the disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Of the four healthy starters, De La Rosa has the most fantasy value but should be viewed as nothing more than a late-round option for mixed leagues. Gray should remain stashed in dynasty and keeper formats, as well as NL-only leagues.

|Rockies | Rox to monitor Tyler Chatwood's innings|
Tue, 22 Mar 2016 22:19:46 -0700
Colorado Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood (elbow) does not have an innings limit, but the team intends to watch his workload closely. He hasn't pitched in a major league game since April 29, 2014, after reconstructive elbow surgery. "There's a limit that they probably have in mind, but I think we're just going to go on how I feel, if I'm still strong or if I'm getting fatigued," Chatwood said Tuesday, March 22.
Fantasy Tip: Chatwood will be one of the top fantasy options in the Colorado rotation, but he is only worth a look in NL-only formats to start.

|Rockies | Chad Bettis, Tyler Chatwood lead spring rotation|
Tue, 22 Mar 2016 13:21:23 -0700
Colorado Rockies SP Chad Bettis and SP Tyler Chatwood are the leaders of the starting rotation this spring. Bettis has a 3.75 ERA, eight strikeouts, two walks, and a .267 batting average against in 12 innings, while Chatwood has a 3.27 ERA, five strikeouts, six walks, and a .167 batting average against in 11 innings.
Fantasy Tip: Jorge De La Rosa also has had a decent spring even though his earned run average (4.63) is pretty high. Right now Bettis and Chatwood look like decent late-round options in NL and mixed leagues, but beware of the Coors Field effect as always.
