San Diego Padres SP Tyson Ross has pitched at least six innings and given up two earned runs or less in nine straight starts, which is the longest current streak in the National League. Ross has allowed only four runs and 18 hits while striking out 31 over 25 innings in his last four starts.
Fantasy Tip: Ross had an excellent month of July, and he carried it over into August with his outing against the Atlanta Braves Sunday. Continue to ride him.
Mon, 14 Jul 2014 20:10:19 -0700
San Diego Padres SP Tyson Ross has managed a 7-10 record over the first half of the season, but he has a very solid 2.85 ERA over 20 starts with a .231 opponent batting average, 1.18 WHIP and 126 strikeouts over 129 2/3 innings.
Fantasy Tip: The offense has abandoned him most nights, as if he were pitching for a contender he would certainly be in double-digit victories. Fantasy owners will be unhappy with the lack of wins, but he is certainly doing his part in other categories to be a must-start option.
