New York Yankees RP David Robertson (oblique) will not be coming off the 15-day disabled list when he is eligible Sunday, May 27, but could start his rehab work Thursday, May 24. Robertson hopes to return on the road series against the Detroit Tigers starting June 1.

New York Yankees skipper Joe Girardi isn't committing to returning RP David Robertson (oblique) back in the closer role when he returns from the disabled list. Girardi said that RP Rafael Soriano is the team's closer right now, but Girardi won't make any decisions until Robertson is back. Girardi has trust in Soriano because he has more experience in the ninth-inning role.

New York Yankees RP David Robertson (oblique) won't be activated from the disabled list when he's eligible next week, according to manager Joe Girardi. Robertson is expected to head out on a rehab assignment Thursday, May 24. OF Brett Gardner (elbow) will join Robertson at the end of this week.

The New York Yankees placed RP David Robertson (oblique) on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, May 15, with a strained left oblique muscle. RP Rafael Soriano will be left to close out the ninth inning in Robertson's absence. Soriano has saved both of his chances with Robertson injured. RPs Cory Wade and Boone Logan will be trusted with more pressure-packed innings in the back of the bullpen.
