Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy sitting Saturday

Sat, 01 Aug 2015 13:21:42 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is out of the starting lineup Saturday, Aug. 1, against the Chicago Cubs. C Martin Maldonado will start behind the plate and hit eighth in the order against RHP Kyle Hendricks, while OF Shane Peterson will hit second and start in center field.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting below .200 against both right and left pitching this season, and he should be avoided on FantasyScore. Peterson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) went 2-for-3 with two singles and a walk Friday, and he'll have some upside while offering cap relief.

Brewers | Shane Peterson could bump up

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 18:07:45 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Shane Peterson could serve as the primary reserve outfielder if OF Gerardo Parra is traded in the next few weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($1,800; or 3.6% of cap) is only worth a look if and when he draws a start, especially against left-handed pitching. He is 7-for-13 (.538) so far against southpaws.

Brewers | Carlos Gomez out Sunday

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 07:41:42 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Carlos Gomez is out of the starting lineup Sunday, July 5, against the Cincinnati Reds. OF Shane Peterson will start in the field and hit sixth in the order against RHP Mike Leake.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has a strikeout rate of 32.4%, and he has hit just two singles in his last three starts. Peterson doesn't possess enough upside to be considered for FantasyScore purposes.

Brewers | Ryan Braun out of the lineup

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 08:30:59 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is not in the starting lineup against Minnesota Twins SP Kyle Gibson Saturday, June 27. OF Gerardo Parra will start in right field and is batting first, while OF Shane Peterson is starting in left field and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Braun ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should be back soon. Peterson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has picked up at least one hit in seven of his last 10 games, but owners should be able to find better options to use.

Brewers | Carlos Gomez resting Thursday

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 08:25:16 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Carlos Gomez is out of the lineup Thursday, June 25, with OF Shane Peterson in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting .353 the last seven days but faces off against Jacob deGrom. He's worth the speculative flyer on FantasyScore despite the matchup.

Twins | Eddie Rosario not playing Wednesday

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 09:41:22 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 24. OF Shane Peterson is starting in left field and hitting ninth against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap), despite a .300 average (15-for-50) is one to avoid in daily games today against Sale, the most overpowering lefty in the American League.

Brewers | Carlos Gomez out again vs. Rockies

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 13:10:09 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Carlos Gomez (hip) is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 19. OF Shane Peterson draws into the lineup, and he is playing left field and batting seventh against Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa Friday.

Fantasy Tip: There is a good chance Gomez ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) ultimately lands on the disabled list, and it looks like his injury plagued season projects to continue. Peterson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) stands to keep drawing into the lineup, but the real winner is Gerardo Parra ($3,500, 7.0% of cap), as he'll likely continue to bat high in the lineup. Parra is worth adding in deep mixed leagues. Peterson warrants attention in NL-only formats. For FantasyScore contests Friday, both Brewers are in play at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Brewers | Carlos Gomez out Thursday

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 15:08:59 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Carlos Gomez is out of the starting lineup Thursday, June 18, against the Kansas City Royals. Gomez recently missed two games due to leg and hip issues, but he rejoined the lineup Wednesday. OF Gerardo Parra will play center field and move into the leadoff spot, while OF Shane Peterson will make the start in left field and bat eighth in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Parra ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is hitting for a .280 average against right-handed pitching this season, with three of his four home runs having come against righties. Parra will be a strong FantasyScore play while leading off against RHP Jeremy Guthrie. Peterson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) went 3-for-3 Wednesday, but he has struggled in a small sample size against right-handed pitching. FantasyScore owners will need to find cap relief elsewhere.

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 15:38:48 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Shane Peterson will start in left field against Kansas City Royals SP Chris R. Young Tuesday, June 16, and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting only .192 since being called up from the minor leagues and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Brewers | Carlos Gomez scratched

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 14:25:26 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Carlos Gomez (leg) was scratched from the starting lineup Monday, June 15, because of right leg tightness. OF Gerardo Parra will start in center field and bat first in the lineup, while OF Shane Peterson is starting in left field and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see if Gomez ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) will miss more than one game. Parra ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has six hits in his last four games and could be a solid option on FantasyScore. Peterson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting .174 this season and should not be an option on FantasyScore.
