Cardinals | Lance Lynn won't start this weekend

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 14:22:35 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SP Lance Lynn (ankle) will not make a start this weekend in order to receive more time to rest his ankle.

Fantasy Tip: Lynn's ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) injury isn't too serious, so he should return to the rotation after a little break. Using him on FantasyScore in his first turn back might be more of a risk than normal, though, depending on who he faces.

Cardinals | Lance Lynn has mild ankle sprain

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 12:44:00 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SP Lance Lynn (ankle) is expected to make his next scheduled start after suffering a mild right ankle sprain in his start against the San Francisco Giants Saturday, Aug. 29. He had limited swelling around the ankle and was able to move around the clubhouse without much difficulty following the game, although the ankle was still tender.

Fantasy Tip: Lynn ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) is tentatively scheduled to make his next start against the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday, Sept. 4. He tossed seven scoreless innings before exiting Saturday, allowing just six hits and two walks while striking out two and picking up the victory. FantasyScore owners may want to avoid using him in his next outing just to be on the safe side.

Cardinals | Lance Lynn leaves game

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 16:20:10 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SP Lance Lynn (ankle) left his start early Saturday, Aug. 29, because of a mild right ankle sprain.

Fantasy Tip: There is a chance Lynn ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) could be held out of his next start, so owners should look for an update on his status over the next few days. Lynn is a solid starting option against most opponents when healthy.

Cardinals | Lance Lynn shines vs. Brew Crew

Sat, 08 Aug 2015 05:56:16 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SP Lance Lynn threw six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts during the Cardinals' 6-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Friday, Aug. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Lynn ($8,200) is priced like a second-tier starter at FantasyScore, and he has pitched like one dating back to the beginning of the 2014 season. He is often overlooked, though. Lynn has a 2.75 ERA, a 1.27 WHP, and a 8.6 K/9 over his past 54 starts with 24 wins. He is worth considering at FantasyScore the majority of nights he takes the hill.

Cardinals | Lance Lynn improving strikeout rates

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 16:47:16 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SP Lance Lynn has a 25.1 K% and 9.53 K/9, which both are considerably higher than his career 23.3 and 8.86 marks.

Fantasy Tip: Lynn ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) is having a solid season with six wins, 2.90 ERA, 2.80 FIP, 1.29 WHIP and the increased strikeouts. Fantasy owners should view him as a No. 2 starter in all formats, and he is an excellent FantasyScore option worth spending up for in favorable matchups. The extra punchouts are a nice bonus.

Cardinals | Lance Lynn pitching well

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 08:55:53 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SP Lance Lynn is 3-0 with a 1.19 ERA in his last six starts. He'll be facing the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday, July 10.

Fantasy Tip: Lynn ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) has been hot and is facing a Pirates squad without Josh Harrison (thumb) and possibly Starling Marte (oblique). However, he's going up against the major league leader in wins in Gerrit Cole, so be careful paying up for Lynn on FantasyScore.

Cardinals | Lance Lynn to start Thursday

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 23:03:42 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SP Lance Lynn (forearm) has been cleared to come off the 15-day disabled list to start Thursday, June 25, against the Miami Marlins.

Fantasy Tip: Lynn ($8,200, 16.4% of cap) comes at a prohibitive price on FantasyScore without the luxury of a rehab start to test his stamina and location. We'd pass on this start.

Cardinals | Lance Lynn throws 'pen session

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 15:13:23 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SP Lance Lynn (forearm) threw 35 pitches to warm up and threw a simulated inning afterwards Saturday, June 20. The next step is for him to throw Tuesday, June 23. The earliest he could return to pitch would be Thursday, June 25, but he could be held back until the weekend.

Fantasy Tip: Lynn ($8,200, 16.4% of cap) could face the Miami Marlins Thursday or the Chicago Cubs next weekend. Give him a start to kick off the rust before using him on FantasyScore.

Cardinals | Lance Lynn throws

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 09:12:59 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SP Lance Lynn (forearm) played catch Tuesday, June 16, for the first time since going on the disabled list. He'll continue throwing this week.

Fantasy Tip: Lynn could be back as early as June 26, but that seems to be an aggressive window if he's just playing catch right now. Keep him stashed on your DLs.
