Toronto Blue Jays OF Anthony Gose will be optioned to Triple-A Buffalo Friday, Aug. 15, to make room for 1B Edwin Encarnacion's (quadriceps) return from the disabled list. General manager Alex Anthopoulos confirmed that Encarnacion will be in the lineup against the Chicago White Sox Friday.
Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion's return will definitely be welcomed by all of his owners. Get him back into your lineups immediately. Juan Francisco, who has struggled mightily recently, will now find it even harder to find playing time. He could be downgraded to a platoon option at third base with Danny Valencia.

Updating a previous report, the Toronto Blue Jays have placed OF Nolan Reimold (calf) on the 15-day disabled list because of a calf injury. The team also recalled OF Anthony Gose from Triple-A Buffalo.

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (hamstring) has been diagnosed with a hamstring strain but should be able to return in the near future.
Fantasy Tip: Bautista probably will miss a few games, but it is not known if he will need to be placed on the 15-day disabled list. Anthony Gose and Kevin Pillar likely would see more time in the outfield if Bautista does go on disabled list. Gose could be an option in deeper mixed leagues while Pillar likely would only be an option in AL-only leagues.

Toronto Blue Jays hitting coach Kevin Seitzer has been working with OF Anthony Gose to avoid pulling the ball because "that's just one of the things that can get him in trouble." Since replacing injured OF Colby Rasmus (oblique) in center field, Gose has gone 5-for-17 with two doubles and a .455 on-base percentage and he has also shown more patience at the plate than in previous appearances in the majors. "His track record is he doesn't walk that much and now he's walking a lot and having long at-bats," Seitzer said. "He's had some eight-pitch at-bats. He's been doing great."

The Toronto Blue Jays placed OF Colby Rasmus (hamstring) on the 15-day disabled list with right hamstring tightness Thursday, May 15, and recalled OF Anthony Gose from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Gose should be expected to fill in for the majority of starts in center field with Rasmus sidelined. Target Gose in AL-only leagues in the short term if you're looking for some outfield at-bats.
