Toronto Blue Jays OF Anthony Gose could be used as a defensive replacement late in games, and manager John Gibbons wasn't sure if Gose will be a short- or long-term addition to the team. Gose was hitting only .227 with two home runs and five stolen bases at Triple-A Buffalo. He hit .223 in 56 games with the Blue Jays last year.

Fantasy Tip: Gose won't play enough to warrant consideration in mixed leagues. If you're desperate for outfielders in a deep AL-only league, take a look.

Toronto Blue Jays OF Melky Cabrera (legs) will undergo an MRI exam on his legs Wednesday, May 15, to make sure he's not dealing with a major injury. He has been dealing with tightness in his hamstrings.

Fantasy Tip: With Rajai Davis (oblique) on the disabled list, Emilio Bonifacio will shift to the outfield to replace Cabrera. Bonifacio would become a decent addition to deep mixed rosters if Cabrera's injury keeps him out for extended time. Toronto could also choose to recall Anthony Gose or Moises Sierra in that case.

The Toronto Blue Jays are close to pulling off a trade for New York Mets SP R.A. Dickey, according to major league sources. OF Anthony Gose is likely to be included in a package, and the Mets are also expected to acquire either Cs J.P. Arencibia or Travis d'Arnaud. It's unclear if the Blue Jays have been granted permission to try and work out an extension with Dickey if they pull off a trade.

New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said he is holding firm that he wants a "difference-maker" in any trade involving SP R.A. Dickey, despite the fact that Los Angeles Dodgers SP Zack Greinke and Kansas City Royals SP James Shields are off the market. The Mets would want more than 3B Mike Olt in any deal with the Texas Rangers, for example. The Toronto Blue Jays could interest New York with a package of C J.P. Arencibia and OF Anthony Gose.

Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos indicated Friday, Nov. 9, that the team might go with an in-house candidate to fill their left field job. It might mean some combination of OFs Rajai Davis and Anthony Gose.
