Tigers | Career-high four hits for Anthony Gose

Thu, 14 May 2015 13:34:09 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Anthony Gose had a career-high four hits against the Minnesota Twins Thursday, May 14. He also scored two runs.

Fantasy Tip: Gose ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is now sporting a .348/.394/.500 slash line with 16 runs and six stolen bases. Seasonal players have a nice three-category contributor, and FantasyScore players can turn to Gose as an upside source of cap relief. Setting the table for a potent lineup has huge potential in daily contests.

Fri, 08 May 2015 12:47:27 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Gose ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is having a nice season (five stolen bases and a .313 batting average), and he has solid fantasy upside setting the table for a potent Detroit lineup. At his salary, FantasyScore players have a nice source of cap relief on their hands. Gose is 5-for-12 with two runs and a stolen base over his last three games, too.

Tigers | Rajai Davis not in lineup Tuesday

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 13:23:30 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Rajai Davis (groin) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 28, against the Minnesota Twins. OF Anthony Gose is in center field.

Fantasy Tip: Two factors are at work here for Davis ($2,700, 5.4% of cap). Mike Pelfrey, a right-hander, is starting for the Twins, and Davis may still have some lingering groin issues. Gose ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is a cheaper source of production in the outfield.

Tigers | Rajai Davis not playing Monday

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 16:31:12 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Rajai Davis (groin) is not in the starting lineup Monday, April 27, after injuring his groin Sunday, April 26. OF Anthony Gose was dropped to ninth in the batting order against Minnesota Twins SP Tommy Milone Monday, and he's starting in center field.

Fantasy Tip: Gose ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is having a fine young season (15-for-45, .333, with three stolen bases), but he's normally a platoon partner with Davis that only faces right-handed hitters. He's not as attractive to FantasyScore owners while facing a southpaw and hitting at the bottom of the batting order.

Tigers | Rajai Davis starting again

Wed, 15 Apr 2015 11:18:56 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Rajai Davis is starting in center field and hitting leadoff for the second straight day against Pittsburgh Pirates left-handed SP Francisco Liriano Wednesday, April 15. OF Anthony Gose will start on the bench again.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is expected to start against lefties this year while in a platoon with Gose. Davis should be in consideration for a FantasyScore lineup spot today after hitting .356 with four of his eight home runs against lefties in 2014. He also has three stolen bases already this year.

Tigers | Rajai Davis draws start vs. righty

Tue, 14 Apr 2015 12:43:34 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Rajai Davis is starting in center field and hitting leadoff against Pittsburgh Pirates SP A.J. Burnett Tuesday, April 14, with OF Anthony Gose receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has seen his fantasy value drop because he's on the weak end of a platoon in center field with Gose, who has played well to start the year. However, Davis is a sneaky sleeper play at FantasyScore today against Burnett, who allows plenty of stolen bases.

Tigers | Anthony Gose starting again

Thu, 09 Apr 2015 09:37:07 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Anthony Gose is hitting leadoff for the second straight day and starting in center field against Minnesota Twins SP Kyle Gibson Thursday, April 9.

Fantasy Tip: Gose ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) appears to be on the strong side of a platoon in center field with Rajai Davis ($3,800, 7.6% of cap), which makes him pretty valuable at FantasyScore. Gose had six at-bats in the lopsided win Wednesday, and he had three hits, including a double and triple, and three RBI. Ride him after his impressive performance.

Tigers | Anthony Gose starting Wednesday

Wed, 08 Apr 2015 08:54:47 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Anthony Gose is hitting leadoff and starting in center field Wednesday, April 8.

Fantasy Tip: Gose ($3,900, 7.8% of your cap) has a decent matchup against Minnesota Twins starter Ricky Nolasco. Gose hit .299 with 12 runs and six steals in 67 at-bats this spring. He's a low-end flyer on FantasyScore today. His start means speedster Rajai Davis is on the bench and should be avoided today.

Tigers | Anthony Gose hot this spring

Mon, 23 Mar 2015 09:20:55 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Anthony Gose hit a double in the spring game Sunday, March 22, and he's batting .341 and leads the Grapefruit League in triples with three and is among the leaders in batting average and slugging percentage.

Fantasy Tip: Gose's hot spring has likely at least earned him a partial time share in center field with Rajai Davis to start the 2015 season. Gose also hits left-handed, so that could become a straight platoon. Gose, 24, is a late-round option in deeper mixed leagues for his speed contributions. He'll be much more valuable in AL-only formats.

Tigers | Anthony Gose making a case

Thu, 19 Mar 2015 15:34:27 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Anthony Gose has four stolen bases this spring with a .371/.436/.629 slash line. He is competing with OF Rajai Davis for playing time in center field.

Fantasy Tip: Gose is a post-hype candidate after falling out of favor with the Toronto Blue Jays. In deep mixed and AL-only leagues, he is a solid late-round target because of his stolen base upside. Gose's fantasy stock has the potential to rise significantly if he earns the lion's share of playing time in center field for the Tigers.
