Pittsburgh Pirates SP Gerrit Cole made his postseason debut Friday, Oct. 4, in Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. He allowed one earned run, two hits and a walk with five strikeouts over six innings for the win, leveling the series at one game apiece. Cole also added an RBI in the victory.

Pittsburgh Pirates manager Clint Hurdle is expected to change his starting pitcher for the regular-season finale Sunday, Sept. 29, against the Cincinnati Reds, if nothing is at stake. SP Gerrit Cole is currently expected to pitch but could be held out of the game as insurance for the wild-card game Tuesday, Oct. 1.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are considering sending SP Gerrit Cole down to Triple-A Indianapolis so he can make a start during the All-Star break. Cole would be off for 10 days if he does not go down to the minor leagues.
