Pittsburgh Pirates SP Gerrit Cole recovered well from his start Wednesday, Aug. 20, according to manager Clint Hurdle. Hurdle was impressed with Cole's ability to keep his velocity high deep into the game. It was the first start Cole made since returning from the disabled list.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have activated SP Gerrit Cole (lat) from the 15-day disabled list. The team also optioned 3B Brent Morel to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Fantasy Tip: Cole will rejoin the starting rotation and should return to all starting lineups in fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Gerrit Cole (lat) pitched seven scoreless innings while striking out three batters during a rehab start with Triple-A Indianapolis Friday, Aug. 15. Cole threw 92 pitches during the outing.

Fantasy Tip: Cole likely will rejoin the starting rotation at some point next week and should be added to all fantasy starting lineups.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Gerrit Cole (lat) could return to the team after his rehab start Saturday, Aug. 16, but the team has not made any decisions at this point. The team would like Cole to pitch seven innings and throw 90 pitches in his rehab start.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Cole will be making his final rehab start this weekend. Owners should get Cole back in their starting lineup when he comes off the disabled list.
