New York Mets minor league 2B Reese Havens (back), currently playing with Double-A Binghamton, has been activated from the disabled list. He had been sidelined since spring training because of a back injury.

The New York Mets optioned P Jenrry Mejia, P Armando Rodriguez, P Jeurys Familia, P Robert Carson, SS Wilmer Flores, OF Juan Lagares, 2B Reese Havens, OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis and P Josh Stinson to the minors. They also reassigned P Matt Harvey and OF Matt den Dekker to minor league camp.

The New York Mets have agreed to terms with Ps Pedro Beato, Robert Carson, Jeurys Familia, Dillon Gee, Jeremy Hefner, Daniel Herrera, Jenrry Mejia, Jonathon Niese, Bobby Parnell, Armando Rodriguez, Chris Schwinden and Josh Stinson, Cs Mike Nickeas and Josh Thole, INFs Ike Davis, Wilmer Flores, Reese Havens, Zach Lutz, Daniel Murphy, Josh Satin, Ruben Tejada, Justin Turner and Jordany Valdespin and OFs Lucas Duda, Juan Lagares, Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Cesar Puello on one-year contracts.

New York Mets 2B Reese Havens, who has worked at shortstop during his career, is healthy and will work exclusively at second base in camp. Manager Terry Collins said once Havens gets to the minors to open the year he would be exposed to other positions, too.

New York Mets SS Reese Havens (rib) underwent surgery eight weeks ago to shave an inch off a rib that was rubbing against another rib on his left side and also irritating the oblique, ESPNNewYork.com's Adam Rubin reports. He started hitting last week and said he's getting close to 100 percent.
