Yankees | Alex Rodriguez sitting vs. Giants

Sun, 24 Jul 2016 08:20:06 -0700

New York Yankees DH Alex Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup Sunday, July 24. OF Aaron Hicks is starting in right field and batting ninth against San Francisco Giants SP Jeff Samardzija Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: There is very limited fantasy value with both Rodriguez and Hicks, as they own a .619 and .544 OPS, respectively. They're both strictly depth options in cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues, and Hicks is a desperation start in daily contests Sunday.

Yankees | Four Yankees regulars sitting Friday

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 13:34:21 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury, 1B Mark Teixeira, C Brian McCann and SS Didi Gregorius are out of the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants left-handed SP Madison Bumgarner Friday, July 22. OF Aaron Hicks is in center field and hitting eighth, 2B Rob Refsnyder is at second and batting sixth, C Austin Romine is behind the dish and hitting seventh and 2B Ronald Torreyes is at the 6 and batting ninth. Also, 2B Starlin Castro moves up to the two-hole.

Fantasy Tip: All four players sitting are left-handed, which makes since with MadBum being one of the tougher southpaws in the league. None of Hicks, Refsnyder, Romine or Torreyes should be anything more than desperation daily stabs in the tough matchup. Castro, however, might be a contrarian play with the move up the batting order given the fact he's also been swinging a hot stick.

Yankees | Alex Rodriguez sitting vs. Orioles

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 12:37:29 -0700

New York Yankees DH Alex Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 20. OF Aaron Hicks draws into the lineup in right field and is batting ninth against Baltimore Orioles SP Yovani Gallardo Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez started five consecutive games and went 2-for-16 with four walks. It's basically what to expect from the veteran, and he's no longer a viable fantasy asset outside of cavernous mixed and AL-only setups. Hicks is down to a .197/.261/.301 slash line, and at this point, he's nothing more than a desperation fantasy option.

Yankees | Rob Refsnyder, Aaron Hicks playing

Sat, 09 Jul 2016 11:45:39 -0700

Confirming a previous report, New York Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira (knee) is not in the starting lineup against Cleveland Indians SP Danny Salazar Saturday, July 9. INF/OF Rob Refsnyder will bat eighth and play first base, while OF Aaron Hicks bats ninth and starts in right field.

Fantasy Tip: Teixeira is expected to return to the lineup Sunday, July 10. Refsnyder is batting .286 with 10 RBI through 77 at-bats this season and should be viewed as a productive source of cap relief, while Hicks is nothing more than an inexpensive flier.

Yankees | Aaron Hicks takes a seat

Thu, 07 Jul 2016 12:38:28 -0700

New York Yankees OF Aaron Hicks is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 7. 2B Rob Refsnyder is starting in right field and is hitting ninth against Cleveland Indians SP Trevor Bauer.

Fantasy Tip: Refsnyder has done well in his limited at-bats this year (.288-0-9 in 73 at-bats), but he's limited offensively for daily owners, especially while hitting at the bottom of the order against a hot pitcher. Look to fade him tonight.

Yankees | Three Yankees regulars sitting

Tue, 05 Jul 2016 14:29:51 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury, SS Didi Gregorius and C Brian McCann are not in the starting lineup against Chicago White Sox left-handed SP Carlos Rodon Tuesday, July 5. OF Aaron Hicks is in center field and hitting eighth, 2B Rob Refsnyder draws in at second base and is batting seventh and C Austin Romine is catching and hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: The Yanks are resting some of their lefty hitters with a southpaw on the bump. All three replacements won't be all that attractive in DFS this evening. Hicks might be the most appealing as a deep sleeper, but he's batting .203 on the season with three homers and 16 RBI.

Yankees | Carlos Beltran, Chase Headley sitting

Sun, 03 Jul 2016 13:02:21 -0700

New York Yankees OF Carlos Beltran and 3B Chase Headley are not in the starting lineup against San Diego Padres SP Andrew Cashner Sunday, July 3. OF Aaron Hicks will start in right field and is batting seventh, while 3B Ronald Torreyes will start at third base and is batting eighth. 3B Alex Rodriguez is also out of the lineup because the team can't use a designated in National League stadiums.

Fantasy Tip: Hicks has only one hit in his last 22 at-bats and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues. Torreyes is hitting only .237 with five RBI this season and is not a strong option in any league.
