Wed, 07 May 2014 13:14:32 -0700

The Baltimore Orioles recalled C Caleb Joseph from Triple-A Norfolk Wednesday, May 7, and optioned 2B Jemile Weeks to Norfolk in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Joseph will serve as catching insurance with Matt Wieters (elbow) ailing. Steve Clevenger's short-term value will go up in AL leagues if Wieters is forced to DH frequently.

Orioles | Jemile Weeks on his way up

Tue, 08 Apr 2014 14:48:48 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 2B Jemile Weeks is expected to join the team Wednesday, April 9, but it's unclear who will be placed on the disabled list to make room for him. SS J.J. Hardy (back) is improving and isn't expected to need a DL stint. Hardy was available to play if needed Tuesday, April 8.

Fantasy Tip: This move isn't official yet, and it's unclear where Weeks would even play. He'll likely just provide infield depth with Hardy and Manny Machado (knee) banged up.

Orioles | Jonathan Schoop standing out

Tue, 11 Mar 2014 08:15:26 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 2B Jonathan Schoop is 9-for-17 with four extra-base hits and five RBIs in Grapefruit League play. He's still in competition with Ryan Flaherty and Jemile Weeks to start at second base. All three have minor league options.

Fantasy Tip: Schoop has the best long-term potential of these three but will have to keep up his hot hitting to usurp the other two. Either way, Schoop should emerge with semi-regular playing time at some point this season, which means he's worth tucking away in AL-onlys.
