Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer (hand) is feeling "a little better" Friday, July 25, and could return Sunday, July 27, according to manager Ned Yost. He also said if Hosmer isn't at close to full health Sunday, he'll instead come back Tuesday, July 29.

Fantasy Tip: Sounds like a day-to-day deal that could wind up in a DL stint if Hosmer can't improve. We'll keep you posted.

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer (hand) left the game Wednesday, July 23, with "decreased grip strength in his hand," according to a club announcement.

Fantasy Tip: Perhaps too soon for him to come back -- Billy Butler took his place at the plate. Stay tuned for more on Hosmer, but this doesn't sound like something he'll recover from quickly. He might need a few more days off and perhaps a DL trip.

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer (hand) was sidelined for the second straight game Tuesday, July 22, against the Chicago White Sox. Manager Ned Yost said he doubts Hosmer will play at all in the current series against the White Sox. Yost said he is hopeful Hosmer can return Thursday, July 24, against the Cleveland Indians. "He wanted to try to push it today," Yost said. "But he still has some weakness in his hand."

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer (hand) was scratched from the lineup Monday, July 21, against the Chicago White Sox due to a right hand contusion.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer came into the day with the longest active hitting streak in the majors at 16 games, four more than any other player in the league. The severity of this injury is not yet known, but those fantasy owners in leagues which allow daily moves should reserve him until he can return and prove his health in one full game without any setbacks.
