Mon, 21 Jul 2014 19:13:49 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer (hand) was scratched from the lineup Monday, July 21, against the Chicago White Sox due to a right hand contusion.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer came into the day with the longest active hitting streak in the majors at 16 games, four more than any other player in the league. The severity of this injury is not yet known, but those fantasy owners in leagues which allow daily moves should reserve him until he can return and prove his health in one full game without any setbacks.

Royals | Won't demote Eric Hosmer

Mon, 30 Jun 2014 14:52:07 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer is not in danger of being optioned to Triple-A Omaha, according to manager Ned Yost. "That's so far back off the radar, it's not even close. Not even on the map," Yost said.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer's June slash line is .193/.233/.294, so consider benching him if you have alternative options. Many expected a breakout season for him, but don't forget, he surged in the second half of 2013. His current trade value is likely too low to attempt a deal, and his upside is too high to part ways. Stay the course, and hope for another big second half from Hosmer, to salvage his season.

Royals | Alex Gordon likely headed for fifth spot

Wed, 05 Feb 2014 21:12:17 -0800

Kansas City Royals OF Alex Gordon is likely headed out of the leadoff spot and to the fifth spot following the acquisition of OF Norichika Aoki. "You never know what's going to happen with injuries (or) how people are going to play," Gordon said. "We're going to iron all that out in spring training." Manager Ned Yost has said Gordon will fall into the fifth spot behind 2B Omar Infante, 1B Eric Hosmer and DH Billy Butler.

Fantasy Tip: A move for Gordon to the fifth spot will provide many more RBI opportunities. His runs scored might take a hit, but his power numbers should rise. His fantasy appeal is on the way up batting in the middle of the order.
