San Diego Padres 1B Yonder Alonso is not in the lineup against Texas Rangers left-handed SP Cole Hamels Wednesday, Sept. 2. 1B Brett Wallace is starting at first base and is batting fifth.
Fantasy Tip: Choosing Wallace ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) on FantasyScore is usually a sketchy proposition, let alone when he's facing a left-hander. Avoid him against Hamels this evening.

San Diego Padres 1B Brett Wallace gets the start Thursday, Aug. 6, in one of his favorite places to play, Miller Park in Milwaukee. He is a career .313/.377/.625 hitter there.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) faces SP Matt Garza, who has allowed nine home runs and a .310 batting average against left-handed hitters. Wallace is an affordable, deep sleeper with a good history at Miller Park.

San Diego Padres 1B Yonder Alonso has the day off Thursday, Aug. 6, in Milwaukee against the Brewers. 1B Brett Wallace will get the start and bat fifth.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is batting .346 with two home runs and a double in 26 at-bats against right-handed pitching. Wallace is a bargain basement price if you are looking for a way to manage a tight budget in daily today. He faces SP Matt Garza, who has allowed nine home runs and a .310 batting average against left-handed batters.

San Diego Padres 1B Brett Wallace went 2-for-3 with a solo home run during San Diego's 3-1 win over the Miami Marlins Friday, July 24.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) sits at 9-for-28 with two doubles and a home run for the season, and if he can maintain some consistency at the dish, there is an outside shot for semi-regular at-bats. The Padres' lineup could look extremely different next week, so NL-only owners could have a nice find. FantasyScore players should view Wallace as a low-end source of cap relief at his point.

San Diego Padres 1B Brett Wallace is playing third base and batting fifth against Miami Marlins SP Dan Haren Friday, July 24.
Fantasy Tip: While he may be a tempting source of cap relief at FantasyScore, Wallace ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has just 27 plate appearances this season, and it is likely wise to aim higher. After all, you would be passing up a lot of offensive upside at the first base position. Wallace could be worth a desperation flier in NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues, but you'll want to keep your expectations in check.

San Diego Padres INF Brett Wallace will bat fifth and serve as the designated hitter against Texas Rangers SP Yovani Gallardo Sunday, July 12.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is 4-for-15 this season but far better options are available at the same position in FantasyScore for a slightly higher price.
Fri, 10 Jul 2015 14:32:10 -0700
San Diego Padres 1B Brett Wallace is serving as the designated hitter and is batting sixth against Texas Rangers SP Wandy Rodriguez Friday, July 10.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($1,900, 3.8% of cap), in a lefty-on-lefty matchup, isn't recommended to FantasyScore users. Wallace has only one at-bat against a southpaw this year, and he struck out.

The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired 1B Brett Wallace from the Baltimore Orioles for an undisclosed amount of cash.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace has teased fantasy owners in the past with his potential. Through 90 games at Triple-A Norfolk, he has 10 home runs, 35 RBIs, and a .265 batting average. He is worth a speculative add in AL-only formats, given the Blue Jays could find him semi-regular at-bats with Edwin Encarnacion and Adam Lind on the disabled list.

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis (oblique) left the game early Friday, April 25, because of a left oblique strain.
Fantasy Tip: There is a chance that Davis will have to go on the disabled list because of the injury. Steve Clevenger, Ryan Flaherty or Steve Lombardozzi could handle first base if the team uses someone off their current roster. They could also consider recalling Steve Pearce or Brett Wallace from Triple-A to fill the role. If Davis goes on the DL, none of his replacements likely would be more than AL-only options.
