Giants | Buster Posey hit streak at 12 games

Wed, 20 May 2015 23:55:51 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey extended his hitting streak to 12 games Wednesday, May 20, against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Fantasy Tip: Posey ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) has been on a roll as of late, so don't sit him while he is on the hitting streak.

Wed, 20 May 2015 22:32:40 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI against the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday, May 20.

Fantasy Tip: Posey ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) is currently on an eight-game winning streak and has 10 RBI in his last seven games. Owners on FantasyScore should consider using Posey on most nights.

Giants | No Brandon Belt Wednesday

Wed, 20 May 2015 16:10:27 -0700

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt is out of the starting lineup against a lefty Wednesday, May 20. C Buster Posey is moving to first base, which allows C Andrew Susac to draw a start. Susac is hitting sixth in the batting order against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Brett Anderson.

Fantasy Tip: Posey ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) is the most expensive catcher at FantasyScore, but he may struggle to justify his price, as he's hitting just .233 (7-for-30) with one home run and five RBI against lefties this year. With a full slate of games tonight, it's best to avoid Susac ($1,900, 3.8% of cap)

Giants | Andrew Susac draws start

Wed, 13 May 2015 13:51:56 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Andrew Susac is starting behind the dish and hitting seventh in the batting order against Houston Astros SP Brett Oberholtzer Wednesday, May 13. C Buster Posey is serving as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Susac ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is facing a pitcher making his season debut in Oberholtzer, and Susac has hit lefties to the tune of a .325/.413/.575 slash line in his career in two seasons. Susac could pay off as a deep sleeper at catcher who'll save you plenty of loot at other positions.

Giants | Buster Posey resting in day game

Wed, 06 May 2015 10:49:05 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey is taking the day off Wednesday, May 6. C Andrew Susac draws the start behind the dish and is hitting seventh in the batting order against San Diego Padres SP Ian Kennedy.

Fantasy Tip: Susac ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has a home run in 21 at-bats this year, but he profiles as a low-end catching option at FantasyScore on a day with a full slate of games, plus one due to a double header.

Giants | Buster Posey tries something new

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 20:23:41 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey took early batting practice on the field Tuesday, April 21. He has been inconsistent through the first two weeks, hitting just .229 with two homers and six RBIs entering play. "This goes with the territory when you're not having the success you like," manager Bruce Bochy said.

Fantasy Tip: Posey remains a phenomenal FantasyScore option at $5,600 (or 11.2% of cap), even more so because baseball evens out and he is about to hit a hot streak any day now.

Giants | Buster Posey playing first Sunday

Sun, 19 Apr 2015 11:53:01 -0700

San Francisco Giants C/1B Buster Posey will start at first base against the Arizona Diamondbacks Sunday, April 19. C Andrew Susac will start behind the plate.

Fantasy Tip: This is a way to keep Posey's ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) bat in the lineup while not putting as much strain on his body. Susac is not yet available in FantasyScore.

Giants | Brandon Belt sitting against lefty

Wed, 15 Apr 2015 15:15:24 -0700

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies left-handed SP Tyler Matzek Wednesday, April 15. C Buster Posey is starting at first base and hitting cleanup, while C Hector Sanchez is catching and hitting sixth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Belt ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is hitting just .125 this year after dealing with a groin injury in the early going. Posey ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) had the day off yesterday and should be considered a strong catching option at FantasyScore tonight.

Giants | Buster Posey resting Tuesday

Tue, 14 Apr 2015 15:34:30 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey (neck, shoulder) is sitting out Tuesday, April 14. He said his trapezius muscle was tight Monday, April 13.

Fantasy Tip: Posey's injury doesn't seem serious at all. Expect him back in there tomorrow. Hector Sanchez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) gets the starting nod behind the dish, and he's hitting seventh in the order. There are better catching options at your disposal than Sanchez at FantasyScore.

Giants | Brandon Belt remains out

Fri, 10 Apr 2015 15:45:01 -0700

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt (groin) remains out of the starting lineup Friday, April 10. C Buster Posey is starting at first and hitting fourth, while C Hector Sanchez is behind the plate and hitting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Belt ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) may not be back in the lineup until next week, so play it safe and avoid him at FantasyScore. Posey ($5,600, 11.2% of cap), as always, is one of the safer catcher options on a daily basis.
