The latest Aaron Crow MLB and fantasy baseball news
Mon, 08 Aug 2011 17:03:42 -0700 Kansas City Royals RP Aaron Crow (shoulder) developed shoulder tightness or stiffness shortly after the All-Star break. "We sat him for a couple of days. He felt better. Then he developed some forearm tightness, and we sat him for a couple of days. This was all right after the All-Star break. He feels great now, but he just hasn't been as sharp." As a result of his injury, the team has gone more to RP Greg Holland to set up RP Joakim Soria in the ninth inning.
Tue, 19 Jul 2011 13:00:22 -0700 Kansas City Royals general manager Dayton Moore said RP Aaron Crow will enter the rotation next season. RP Joakim Soria will not be traded as a result.
Tue, 12 Jul 2011 20:01:48 -0700 Kansas City Royals RP Aaron Crow (illness), the team's lone All-Star representative, is unlikely to pitch in the game Tuesday, July 12, due to illness. "It's either (strep throat) or a sinus infection," Crow said. He said he started feeling ill Sunday, July 10, and will be used only in an emergency.
Tue, 05 Jul 2011 06:32:31 -0700 Kansas City Royals RP Aaron Crow balked in the winning run Monday, July 4.
Sun, 03 Jul 2011 10:36:52 -0700 The following pitchers will represent the American League in the 2011 All-Star Game: Tampa Bay Rays SPs David Price and James Shields, Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Jered Weaver, Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander, Boston Red Sox SP Josh Beckett, Texas Rangers SP C.J. Wilson, Oakland Athletics SP Gio Gonzalez, New York Yankees RP Mariano Rivera, Detroit Tigers RP Jose Valverde, Seattle Mariners RP Brandon League, Cleveland Indians RP Chris Perez and Kansas City Royals RP Aaron Crow.
Mon, 30 May 2011 19:47:26 -0700 Kansas City Royals RP Joakim Soria went to manager Ned Yost after his third blown save in seven days Monday, May 30, and admitted he isn't the right man for the closer job right now, and the skipper agreed. "I went to his office and told him it's the right time to (make a change)," Soria said. Yost identified RP Aaron Crow as the primary replacement, but also made it clear the move is just temporary until Soria straightens himself out.
Mon, 30 May 2011 19:18:29 -0700 Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost has stripped RP Joakim Soria of the closing duties, turning to RP Aaron Crow for ninth-inning duties. Soria blew his fifth save Monday, May 30, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, allowing three more runs and four hits to take another loss. Soria's ERA now sits at 6.55. Fantasy Tip: Soria insists he's healthy, but his velocity is down and he doesn't have his normal swing-and-miss stuff. He initially suggested to Yost that he be demoted from the ninth-inning duties after his blown save Monday. However, Yost hinted that Soria could work his way back into the role, so keep him stashed. Crow is worth adding in most formats if you are looking for saves in the short term; Yost seems committed to Soria, so he could see another save chance sooner rather than later.
Tue, 03 May 2011 23:45:01 -0700 Kansas City Royals RP Aaron Crow worked another scoreless inning Tuesday, May 3, against the Baltimore Orioles. He has not allowed a run in his first 13 appearances, tying Bob McClure's club record at the start of his Kansas City career. McClure is currently the team's pitching coach.
Wed, 13 Apr 2011 11:10:42 -0700 Updating a previous item, Kansas City Royals RP Robinson Tejeda is being demoted from the setup role because of his diminished fastball velocity, according to MLB.com's Dick Kaegel. "I'll back him off some until he gets his velocity back," manager Ned Yost said. Tejeda usually throws in the mid 90s, but his fastball was registering in the high 80s Tuesday, April 12. RPs Aaron Crow, Jeremy Jeffress, Kanekoa Texeira and Tim Collins will all be used in late-inning situations.
Thu, 31 Mar 2011 14:37:29 -0700 Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost said he won't really be imposing restrictions on his starting pitchers the first few times through the rotation, according to MLB.com's Dick Kaegel. "The first couple starts I start really paying attention at the 90-pitch mark," Yost said. "I don't push 'em to 125 the first time out. It'll be basically around the 100-pitch mark and then the third, fourth start they'll be ready to go 110, 115," Yost said. "There's no wrap on 'em. You have 'em ready to pitch 100 pitches on Opening Day and they're all there." RPs Jeremy Jeffress, Tim Collins, Aaron Crow and Nathan Adcock will not be limited out of the bullpen.
