Konerko had a cut about his left eye and swelling. He'll undergo more tests on his injury. Konerko has 19 career homers against the Chicago Cubs in 66 games. Beckham has three homers this year while Konerko now has eight.

However, Beckham has been against that thought process. "Everybody wants to say I have a hitch in my swing," Beckham said. "It's the easiest thing in the world to say when I'm not hitting. There are a lot of other things going into it, but I'm not going to get into them. But the one thing I am doing is I'm getting loaded up, ready to go, prepared to hit the ball hard, as opposed to kind of feeling for it, which is what I was doing last year." He has been spending many hours in the cages this offseason to correct his mental approach heading into the 2012 season.
