Ravens | Joe Flacco talks up Michael Crabtree

Fri, 25 May 2018 10:38:03 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Michael Crabtree was called "the guy" by QB Joe Flacco when the latter was asked about chemistry with his new receivers following an OTA session on Thursday, May 24.

Fantasy Tip: The Ravens did well to add a plethora of veteran receivers such as John Brown and Willie Snead, but Crabtree is the only receiver on the roster who has experienced any prolonged NFL success. Owners should expect well over 100 targets for Crabtree, who should be able to contend for WR2 status in fantasy if he can stay healthy this season.

Ravens | Michael Crabtree receives support

Sun, 18 Mar 2018 18:17:19 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Michael Crabtree will be "a reliable receiver" for QB Joe Flacco, according to retired WR Anquan Boldin. "I had a chance to play with Crab for two or three years out in San Francisco," Boldin said. "Like I said, competitive guy, he's a crafty guy, a veteran guy, a guy that can really catch the ball."

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree should immediately become Baltimore's top possession guy, and he's also been productive in the red zone. The Baltimore passing game isn't great, but Crabtree should still be a solid WR3 in 2018.

Ravens | Michael Crabtree goes to Baltimore

Fri, 16 Mar 2018 15:28:22 -0700

The Baltimore Ravens reached an agreement with free-agent WR Michael Crabtree (Raiders) on a three-year contract on Friday, March 16, according to a source. Financial details were undisclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree takes the place of Ryan Grant, who had his deal nullified due to a medical issue. The veteran receiver is probably a better addition than Grant anyway, as the latter never had a 100-yard game. Crabtree is likely to slot as the No. 1 receiver in Baltimore, and he'll be a solid WR3 or flex fantasy option in 2018.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree released

Thu, 15 Mar 2018 12:55:30 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree was released Thursday, March 15, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: This move was expected under the condition that the Raiders would be signing Jordy Nelson, so look for that to come to fruition soon. Crabtree will have teams interested in him but is at the point in his career where he can't be drafted as more than a WR3.

Raiders | Might cut ties with Michael Crabtree

Tue, 13 Mar 2018 19:38:41 -0700

The Oakland Raiders might release WR Michael Crabtree if they are able to land free-agent WR Jordy Nelson. If the Raiders release Crabtree it would result in more than $7 million in cash and cap savings.

Fantasy Tip: Adding Nelson to a mix with Crabtree and Amari Cooper would be intriguing and an upgrade. Adding Nelson to replace Crabtree seems like a lateral move, at best, and perhaps a downgrade given his diminished skills last season. True, Aaron Rodgers was out for nine games in Green Bay, affecting the receiving corps. But Nelson wasn't that great even with Rodgers under center.

Raiders | Marshawn Lynch, Michael Crabtree not safe

Thu, 01 Mar 2018 17:50:43 -0800

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch and WR Michael Crabtree are not guaranteed roster spots next season because the team is uncomfortable with their 2018 salaries, according to sources. Lynch is scheduled to make $4 million in salary next season with the chance to make another $4 million in bonuses. Crabtree is scheduled to make $7 million with a chance for $1.05 million in bonuses. The team may look to restructure the contracts.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation during the next few weeks to see if Lynch and Crabtree will stay with the Raiders. Lynch could be a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in standard leagues if he is not released, while Crabtree could be a late-round option in drafts.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree sticking around

Tue, 27 Feb 2018 19:20:50 -0800

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree has met with head coach Jon Gruden in the past month, and the expectation is Crabtree will return for the 2018 season.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree was rumored to be a cut candidate given his rough finish to last season and the fact his $7.5 million in salary and bonuses isn't guaranteed for next season, but the meeting with Gruden must have gone pretty well. Given how well Gruden schemes his key players open, Crabtree should bounce back nicely in 2018.

Raiders | Big plans for Michael Crabtree

Fri, 16 Feb 2018 18:56:08 -0800

Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said one of his goals this year is to "get the best" out of WR Michael Crabtree.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree's numbers slipped a bit last year, but he still managed at least eight touchdowns for the third year in a row. He should be a solid bench option with WR3 potential in 2018.
