Sean Howard, the agent for Arizona Cardinals RB Beanie Wells (knee), said his client underwent "a clean-out procedure" and not microfracture surgery, which would have required extensive rehab. Wells plans to be ready for a full season, but he's unlikely to practice during organized team workouts. "He's in shape and looks good," Howard said. "The doctors and the Cardinals have decided to play it safe. Rather than rush him back, the consensus opinion was to let him heal."

Arizona Cardinals RB Beanie Wells (knee) described his arthroscopic right knee surgery Tuesday, Jan. 24, "as just a scope," and he said the procedure went as expected. He is at the team's facilities Friday, Jan. 27, to start the rehab process. Wells should be able to participate in offseason work if his rehab goes as planned.

Arizona Cardinals RB Beanie Wells (knee) was rested in Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks, and it was the decision of head coach Ken Whisenhunt. The head coach said Wells was mad at him, but it just didn't make sense to play Wells with nothing on the line and his knee not at 100 percent.
