The St. Louis Rams went into a no-huddle offense in the second half of their Week 2 loss to the Atlanta Falcons when they were trailing 24-3. "No, absolutely not," Bradford said, chuckling. "I thought it was a great idea, just change it up. Obviously, we were struggling in what we were trying to do at that point, so put them on their heels a little bit. Got us going. It was nice to see us perform that way." The Rams responded with three touchdowns in just over 16 minutes.
However, despite the success in the no-huddle last week and the preference of the players to run it, head coach Jeff Fisher isn't ready to change his offense into a high-flying, fast-paced attack just yet. Fisher's teams with the Tennessee Titans were all run-oriented squads, and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has had his most success with ground-and-pound styles. "You look at Sam's 300-yard plus passing games over his career, they've won two," Fisher said. "We have the ability to do it, and there's a time to do it and a time not to do it. If you put a long drive together and you've got the defense tired, and you go back on the field and you want to continue to fatigue the defense, do it."
Fantasy Tip: We'll probably see a combination of a standard offensive attack and a no-huddle approach from St. Louis throughout the year, especially since most of the Rams' skill players like running quickly and are familiar with spread offenses from their collegiate days.

St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher squelched talk he might be in line to be the next coach at Southern California, where he played in college. After practice Wednesday, Sept. 11, Fisher called the speculation "absurd." He joked when first asked about USC whether that meant South Carolina. Fisher is in the second year of a five-year contract with the Rams, who won the season opener for the first time since 2006. However, USC coach Lane Kiffin may be in jeopardy soon, especially after his team's 10-7 loss to Washington State.

Fisher said Pead missing Week 1 will not complicate sorting out the depth chart at running back.

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher wants to get the ball into the hands of WR Tavon Austin as much as possible, in any way that they can. "We're going to try to get the ball to him as often as we can, however we do that," Fisher said.
Fantasy Tip: Good news that the coaching staff wants to get Austin involved as much as possible, either by passing or running the ball out of the backfield. Continue to watch how Austin is used as the team goes through training camp and exhibition games. It looks like Austin is a rookie to watch moving forward.

He's gonna be a huge part of what we want to do moving forward in protection," Fisher said. "Sam (Bradford)'s gonna feel very comfortable with his back protected."

"We spent that time with him, we spent probably four or five days with him, and as an organization, at the end of the interview process, you might call it, we felt it was best to go in another direction."

Thu, 25 Oct 2012 11:38:04 -0700
There is an outside chance St. Louis Rams WR Danny Amendola (clavicle) could play in the team's Week 8 game against the New England Patriots in London. "It kind of depends on how I feel tomorrow. There's an outside chance I could play," Amendola said. Head coach Jeff Fisher also did not rule out playing Amendola, saying they will have to see how the rest of the week goes.
Fantasy Tip: While Amendola is still likely a long shot to play this week, it is obviously great news that he is this close to returning and will likely be ready to go after the Rams’ bye week. When Amendola does return, Chris Givens likely will return to more of a reserve role.

"I'll remind you that the playbook that Gregg has originated in my office, so I have a pretty good feel for the defense. At this point, I don't have liberty to say who is going to make the calls and the decisions, but it'll get done and it'll get done effectively."
