North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz received quite the endorsement recently from ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden in his QB Camp series, set to air on the network in April. The former head coach of the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers called the likely top-five pick in the 2016 NFL Draft "the most NFL-ready quarterback that we've had in (the QB camp) the last couple of years".
Fantasy Tip: It is a pretty bold statement for a quarterback that started less than two full years at a FCS program, especially considering Gruden has worked with Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, Blake Bortles, Teddy Bridgewater and Derek Carr over the last two years. Wentz has the physical tools, but the fact that most draft analysts believe he should not be a Day 1 NFL starter would seem to throw some cold water on Gruden's claim that he is the most "pro-ready". He is almost certain to be a low-end fantasy QB2 in 2016, regardless of where he is drafted.
