Kurt Mensching, of the Marquette Mining Journal, reports former Detroit Lions head coach Steve Mariucci recently ripped the team's general manager Matt Millen for how he has managed the team during his tenure. "Matt Millen has changed 58 coaches already, and he's now finally changing players," Mariucci said. "Sure I've stayed in touch with some of them and some of the coaches, and on occasion Bill Ford Jr. - I respect the heck out of Bill, he'll take that team over some day."

The Ledger reports former NFL head coach Steve Mariucci has joined the NFL Network as an analyst and will appear on pregame shows as well as other shows. "Steve brings to NFL Network the animated, conversant style he brought to NFL Films coverage of his teams each week," NFL Network President & CEO Steve Bornstein said Monday, July 24. "We hope the studio is big enough to contain his enthusiasm."

D. Orlando Ledbetter, of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, interviewed former NFL head coach Steve Mariucci recently. He asked Mariucci if he planned to return to coaching in the future and he replied: "Well, we're going to see how it goes. I'm going to stay open-minded about getting back into coaching, whether it's the professional or college level. I'm going to stay open-minded that way. However, I'm going to give this TV thing a real serious shot and see if I enjoy it and see if they like having me. See if it works."
