Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News, reports former NFL head coach Bill Cowher said he does not know how former NFL RB Jerome Bettis would know he is waiting for the New York Giants head coaching job to open up because the two men have not spoken in two years.

John Murphy, for WIVB.com, reports the Buffalo Bills had a list of viable candidates and a list of reach candidates when they conducted their head coaching search, according to sources. Chan Gailey, who was named the Bills head coach, was on top of the viable candidates list. Among the other names on the viable candidates list were Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, Arizona Cardinals assistant head coach Russ Grimm, Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier and San Diego Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera. Former NFL head coaches Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden as well as Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh were on the list of reach candidates.

Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News, reports former NFL RB Jerome Bettis claims former NFL head coach Bill Cowher wants to be the next head coach for the New York Giants. Bettis says the reason Cowher hasn't returned to coaching yet is because he's "holding out" for the Giants job to open up. During an appearance on Sirius XM's Mad Dog Radio Thursday, Jan. 14, Bettis said Cowher would have gotten the Giants' job in 2008 if Giants head coach Tom Coughlin hadn't won Super Bowl XLII. Bettis added that he believes Cowher "is going to be with the Giants" eventually, possibly as soon as next year.
