"Oh yeah," Edwards replied when asked whether Johnson will play this week. "He's doing well. He's excited about getting going. We had a good discussion about where he's at, what he's trying to do. Just come in here and get ready to play and find your niche in what we're trying to do."
Mon, 03 Nov 2008 06:25:19 -0800 Kent Babb, of the Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles is expected to start the team's Week 10 game. However, head coach Herman Edwards said Charles doesn't have the size or experience to rush the ball 20 times a game. The team will have to at least occasionally use RB Dantrell Savage and RB Jackie Battle.

I spoke to him, and he knows what the situation is now."
Sat, 18 Oct 2008 05:19:14 -0700 Adam Teicher, of the Kansas City Star, reports the Kansas City Chiefs have recorded just three sacks in five games this season, none of which have come from the team's starting defensive linemen. "We haven't done a good job of that with our four guys," head coach Herman Edwards said. "We've got two rookie cornerbacks out there. You've got to make the quarterback uncomfortable in the pocket and not sit back there. It doesn't matter who you've got covering (receivers)."

"Absolutely. We wanted to win the game. I just felt that at that point, you've got to go for two. There was no question in my mind. I already knew the play we were going to run and it had a chance to go," Edwards said.

"He just fits the mold of the mental makeup," Edwards said. "You always measure height, weight, speed, size - and those are great measurables. But at the end of the day, it's the mental toughness you have to play that position."
