Browns | Andrew Hawkins blanked in loss

Sun, 27 Nov 2016 20:34:23 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins was targeted twice and held without a catch in the Week 12 game against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins entered the season with fantasy promise, but the emergence of Terrelle Pryor as the top receiving option and the return of Corey Coleman from injury means Hawkins should be left to the waiver wire in most fantasy formats.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins practices again Friday

Fri, 25 Nov 2016 11:56:47 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (finger) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins isn't even on the injury report for Week 12, meaning he should have no issues suiting up, but that doesn't mean he should be dressed in fantasy leagues. Ever since teammate Corey Coleman returned from injury in Week 9, Hawkins has been virtually useless, amassing just three catches for 33 yards on a whopping six targets over the last three weeks. He can be left on waiver wires everywhere.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins practices Thursday

Thu, 24 Nov 2016 10:27:58 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (finger) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins should see a decent amount of targets against the New York Giants but has not been a big part of the passing game recently. Owners should be able to find better options to use and can avoid Hawkins.

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (finger) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Fri, 18 Nov 2016 14:04:29 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (finger) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 18, and is not on the injury report for Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins has been held to 31 yards or under in each of his last four games but has received a decent amount of targets during that span. He will be facing a struggling Pittsburgh Steelers defense but probably should be avoided in most leagues.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins takes part in practice

Wed, 16 Nov 2016 11:47:13 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (finger) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins has been part of the passing game this season but has not caught more than five passes in any game. He probably will continue to see limited targets moving forward and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins finds end zone twice

Sun, 30 Oct 2016 19:04:05 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins racked up five receptions for 31 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 8 game against the New York Jets. He was targeted eight times.

Fantasy Tip: If Hawkins continues to be a threat in the red zone he is going to become a fantasy favorite in a hurry, especially in TD-only formats. The Browns host the Cowboys in Week 9.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins plays more

Tue, 11 Oct 2016 14:39:27 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins saw his offensive snaps increase from 75 percent in Week 4 to 86 percent in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins too advantage of his snap increase, catching four balls for 56 yards and a touchdown. He and Terrelle Pryor are the only viable receivers who are healthy right now for the Browns. Hawkins' fantasy value will dramatically decrease once Corey Coleman returns, but, if nothing else, Hawkins is a cheaper play in daily contests.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins to start

Thu, 22 Sep 2016 11:35:47 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins will take WR Corey Coleman's (hand) spot in the starting lineup, according to head coach Hue Jackson.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins has been targeted six times over the first two games of the season but should be more involved in the passing game with Coleman out. Hawkins probably can be avoided in most leagues because of the team's quarterback situation.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins practicing

Sun, 21 Aug 2016 12:37:04 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (hamstring) returned to practice Sunday, Aug. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins' value has decreased with the selection of Corey Coleman, the return of Josh Gordon and the emergence of Terrelle Pryor. He's still not a bad possession receiver for the Browns, but at this point he's really only suitable for PPR leagues.

Browns | Cleveland to sit two top WRs

Wed, 10 Aug 2016 14:55:22 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hamstring) and WR Andrew Hawkins (hamstring) will not play in the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers Friday, Aug. 12, according to head coach Hue Jackson.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman and Hawkins are both dealing with hamstring injuries, so the team will not rush them back. Both players should be ready for the start of the regular season, but owners will need to monitor the situation. Coleman likely will be a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver in most fantasy leagues, while Hawkins can be a No. 4 or No. 5 receiver in point-per-reception leagues.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins remains out

Wed, 10 Aug 2016 12:29:00 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (hamstring) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Aug. 10 and will be missing his seventh straight practice.

Fantasy Tip: It appears like Hawkins will miss at least one preseason game because of the injury, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. He should have a solid role in the passing game this season and can be a late-round pick in point-per-reception leagues.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins sitting out Friday

Fri, 05 Aug 2016 15:18:31 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (hamstring) is not participating in practice Friday, Aug. 5.

Fantasy Tip: The Browns likely will take their time with Hawkins because hamstring injuries can linger. Hawkins should have a solid role in the passing game in 2016 and can be a late-round option in point-per-reception leagues.

Browns | Receivers taking shape for Browns?

Tue, 05 Jul 2016 12:33:57 -0700

Cleveland Browns WRs Rashard Higgins and Andrew Hawkins are slated to be the Browns' No. 2 and No. 3 wide receivers behind WR Corey Coleman, according to ESPNClevelan.com's Tony Grossi.

Fantasy Tip: Higgins would be a mild surprise if he's that far up the depth chart already, although the Browns may have the shallowest receiving corps in football. As it stands, Coleman is really the only Cleveland receiver worth drafting, but Hawkins isn't a bad flier in PPR leagues.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins to miss another game

Fri, 18 Dec 2015 14:38:03 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (concussion) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 18, and has been ruled out for the Week 15 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Travis Benjamin ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is probably the only wide receiver on the Browns that fantasy owners should consider using in their starting lineup. The Browns are facing the Seahawks this week, so Benjamin is not a good option.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins misses practice

Thu, 10 Dec 2015 16:18:52 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (concussion) remained out of practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) seems unlikely to return to action this weekend. With Johnny Manziel returning as the starter, Travis Benjamin ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) and Gary Barnidge ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) are really the only aerial weapons in Cleveland worth playing.

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (non-injury), WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and WR Andrew Hawkins (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) appears to be the most likely candidate to start among the three, but should not be a starting option for owners. Owners should avoid Gabriel ($2,000, 4.4% of cap) and Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap).

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 09:24:23 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and Taylor Gabriel (concussion) have both been ruled out for Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: Travis Benjamin ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) and Gary Barnidge ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) are the only weapons you should consider from Cleveland's offense, but even they should be downgraded a bit with Austin Davis starting against the Bengals this weekend.

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 15:10:54 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and Taylor Gabriel (concussion) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Gabriel ($2,000, 4.0%) haven't done much even when they've been healthy this year, and now Austin Davis is starting against a top-tier defense in the Cincinnati Bengals. Avoid both receivers again this week.

Browns | Two Cleveland WRs out

Sat, 28 Nov 2015 12:49:52 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and Taylor Gabriel (concussion) have been ruled out for Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: With Hawkins and Gabriel out, Travis Benjamin ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) and Brian Hartline ($2,000, 4.0%) will be Cleveland's top-two wide receivers. Benjamin at least is worth a start on FantasyScore; he is by far the Browns' best receiver and the Ravens have played poorly against wide receivers.

Browns | Taylor Gabriel, Andrew Hawkins sit out

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 14:13:39 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and WR Andrew Hawkins (concussion) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will have to pass their concussion tests before being cleared, so there is a good chance that they will miss the Week 12 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Gary Barnidge ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) and Travis Benjamin ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) are the only pass catchers that owners should consider from this team.

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 14:19:55 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and Taylor Gabriel (concussion) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Gabriel ($2,000, 4.0%) haven't done a whole lot this year, but Hawkins is a more reliable option. Neither should be started in seasonal leagues or on FantasyScore, though.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins, Taylor Gabriel not cleared

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 10:40:07 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and Taylor Gabriel (concussion) remain in the concussion protocol.

Fantasy Tip: Now the Browns are once again unsure if Johnny Manziel or Josh McCown will start Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens. The matchup is a great one, but with Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Gabriel ($2,000) questionable to play, you should look to avoid them everywhere.

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (concussion) was hospitalized in Pittsburgh Sunday, Nov. 15, after suffering his second concussion in a month. The team said he will undergo "overnight observation."

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins isn't a tremendous FantasyScore option, but that's not important. Hopefully he gets back to 100 percent as quickly as possible.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins suffers concussion

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 13:54:21 -0800

Browns | Three Browns listed as probable

Fri, 13 Nov 2015 15:05:35 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Brian Hartline (concussion), Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and QB Johnny Manziel (elbow) all practiced in full Friday, Nov. 13, and are probable to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: With Manziel ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) expected to make his second straight start, you should look to downgrade both Hartline ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) and Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) in all formats. Stay away from this situation if you can.

Thu, 12 Nov 2015 15:25:44 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Brian Hartline (concussion) and WR Andrew Hawkins (concussion) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Hartline ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) and Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) appear to be on track to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10. Hawkins may have a little more fantasy value since he has been more consistent but neither player is a great fantasy option.

Browns | Three Browns practice in full

Wed, 11 Nov 2015 16:07:13 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Brian Hartline (concussion) and Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and QB Johnny Manziel (elbow) all practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Cleveland's quarterback situation is still in flex entering the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend, leaving Hartline ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) and Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) as unattractive daily options. Manziel ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) could see another start if Josh McCown isn't healthy enough, but after another shaky performance last week, McCown shouldn't be on anyone's daily radar should he start again.

Browns | Brian Hartline, Andrew Hawkins cleared

Tue, 10 Nov 2015 13:18:26 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Brian Hartline (concussion) and Andrew Hawkins (concussion) have both cleared the league's concussion protocol after sitting out in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: That doesn't necessarily mean that Hartline ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) and Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will be playing again this weekend yet, and it's even more risky to use them in any fantasy format with Josh McCown (ribs) still up in the air against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Browns | Three Browns won't play Thursday

Wed, 04 Nov 2015 15:07:37 -0800

Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown (shoulder, ribs), WR Brian Hartline (concussion) and WR Andrew Hawkins (concussion) have been ruled out for Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals Thursday, Nov. 5. All three players missed practice Wednesday, Nov. 4.

Fantasy Tip: Johnny Manziel ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) will start on a short week against an undefeated squad on the road. That doesn't sound like a recipe for success for Cleveland's offensive skill players. Travis Benjamin ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) should probably be the only Browns player you consider in a flex spot on FantasyScore because of his chemistry with Manziel this year.

Browns | Two Browns receivers likely out

Wed, 04 Nov 2015 10:42:42 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Brian Hartline (concussion) and WR Andrew Hawkins (concussion) are in the concussion protocol and unlikely to play Thursday, Nov. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Gary Barnidge's ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) outlook elevates a bit with the thin receiving corps. His price tag just really gives us pause given the lack of consistency on offense. Travis Benjamin ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) is a so-so flex option against the Miami Dolphins.
