Updating a previous item, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh called New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick to explain comments he made about the team's championships being stained. Harbaugh released the following statement through the Ravens. "While on the 98 Rock show this morning to talk about the run to honor O.J. Brigance and raise funds for ALS research, I answered a question about playing within the rules and referred to the perception that the Super Bowl championships won by the Patriots and Saints have a stain. My reference was to the perception out there that came as the result of the league's actions. I could have been more clear that I was referring to those viewpoints. I totally believe that the Patriot and Saint coaches and players earned those championships. Bill (Belichick) and Sean (Payton) both know that. There has been some distortion about what I said ..."

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Friday, Feb. 3, he is not thinking about retiring should he capture another Super Bowl title. Belichick still enjoys his job. "I enjoy all the aspects of the job," Belichick said. "I enjoy the team-building, the drafting, the free agents, team acquisitions - those kind of things. I enjoy bringing in the young players and working with guys who haven't been in the NFL and teaching them the basic fundamentals in how to become a professional football player for the New England Patriots. And I enjoy working with the veteran players, the Tom Bradys and the Vince Wilforks and the Wes Welkers and all those kind of players that can do really special things because of their not only talent, but experience. And I enjoy the competition on a weekly basis. Not just on Sundays, but the preparation leading up into the game. So I enjoy all of it. It beats working."

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has ordered his players to not engage in any trash talking prior to their Week 5 game with the New York Jets. "You ain't going to hear nothing from us, that's for damn sure," said an anonymous veteran player. "Boss' orders." Belichick did not deny telling his team to keep its collective mouth shut when asked about the Patriots' notable silence. "We try to focus on what we need to do to beat the Jets," Belichick said when asked if he had issued a gag order. "That's what we're here for. I mean, what else is there to talk about?"

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Oakland Raiders managing general partner Al Davis interviewed him for their head coaching position back in 1998. "It was good. It was good experience for me. I went out there after the '98 season," Belichick said. "We had a good couple days of conversation. It was good because we talked a lot about football, and he's very, very knowledgeable about the game, personnel, schemes, adjustments and so forth. He was asking a lot of questions about what we did defensively."
