The Green Bay Packers' defense sent five or more rushers 46.3 percent of the time last season, primarily because defensive coordinator Dom Capers felt his three- and four-man rushes weren't disruptive enough. Capers, however, wants to blitz less this season if possible. "I think the goal of every defense is to get pressure out of a four-man rush," Capers said. "That varies from week to week based on the kind of quarterback you're seeing (and) how fast they get the ball out of their hands. We certainly would like to overall improve our pass rush."

Team sources confirmed Capers' new deal is for three years and an estimated $8.1 million. "This is not the way we're going to play," McNair said following their Week 11 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. "We'll do whatever we have to to improve the situation. We're all disappointed.
