The Miami Dolphins worked on some no-huddle offense during practice Saturday, July 28, which they rarely did last season unless it was necessary. Head coach Joe Philbin and offensive coordinator Mike Sherman are feeling out their quarterbacks in camp to see how much the no-huddle can be a part of this year's playbook. "Miami would be exciting because of the familiarity with coach Sherman and some of the staff hired down there," Tannehill said. "It would be nice. Coach Sherman runs a West Coast offense as well as moving the pocket, and that's a couple things I do well: throw on the run, bootlegs, whatever it may be to get outside the pocket and make throws downfield. I like what he did."

Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Sherman said he does not think the team is far off from being a Super Bowl contender and could add a few pieces this offseason. "I've watched the tape, I don't think we're that far away," Sherman said. "We're missing a couple of pieces here and there and we have a chance to build upon what [general manager Jeff Ireland] has put together here. After watching the tape, I feel like we get a couple of pieces here and there and we'll be close."

Kubiak said, "Troy's my eyes upstairs. Anything that comes from up there goes through me. As soon as a contract is done, Sherman will be named the Texans' assistant head coach/offense. The Texans are withholding an announcement until the contract has been signed. Sherman is expected to be introduced, along with head coach Gary Kubiak's entire coaching staff, during a press conference Wednesday, Feb. 15. Kubiak and his assistants are working on schemes, evaluating talent and preparing for the scouting combine Feb. 22-28 in Indianapolis.

"That story's false," Kubiak said about the report that Sherman had accepted his offer. "Mike hasn't decided anything yet.
