Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill said at the NFL Scouting Combine he would love to play for the Miami Dolphins and offensive coordinator Mike Sherman, who coached Tannehill in college. "Miami would be exciting because of the familiarity with coach Sherman and some of the staff hired down there," Tannehill said. "It would be nice. Coach Sherman runs a West Coast offense as well as moving the pocket, and that's a couple things I do well: throw on the run, bootlegs, whatever it may be to get outside the pocket and make throws downfield. I like what he did."

Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Sherman said he does not think the team is far off from being a Super Bowl contender and could add a few pieces this offseason. "I've watched the tape, I don't think we're that far away," Sherman said. "We're missing a couple of pieces here and there and we have a chance to build upon what [general manager Jeff Ireland] has put together here. After watching the tape, I feel like we get a couple of pieces here and there and we'll be close."
